  • Poor news curation at Bloomberg, CNBC, Reuters creating misleading iPhone supply chain pan...

BLOOMBERG's Gurman is so consistently wrong about Apple that I simply mute the TV or change channels when he appears. There is no shortage of competent geeks in their assembly of staff and guests; but, sadly, Gurman has apparently decided to represent the niche of pre-judging analysts who have a short to sell.

America's political hacks care as much about education as they do about affordable healthcare, infrastructure or electoral democracy. Which means "not at all". Being voted into office is only a job skill. An ignorant, bigoted population makes that practical for the most corrupt demographic in decades.

  • Gartner, IDC were both wildly wrong in guessing Apple's Q4 Mac shipments

Crap like Warren's piece won't change until and unless editorial guidance at VERGE changes. A point I've made elsewhere about comparable journalism - especially tech; but, in politics as we all know too well.

I can't comment on either at the VERGE because previous emphasis on editorial bias got me banned.  But, I bet the average geek - cripes, the average Jane or Joe Investor - knows exactly what I mean. How often have folks serious about topics they know well given up on articles they might have read because the headline that's supposed to tempt you already made clear the editorial wish of the publisher?  Not the facts or even conclusions a legit article might provoke.

  • Apple launched investigation into Bloomberg's China hack claims, 'found nothing'

Same rule that applies to any geek: if you can't demonstrate the hack, it's nothing more than bullshit wishful thinking.

  • UK's GCHQ, U.S. officials cast doubt on iCloud server spy chip report

I forget the name of the dweebs Bloomberg often relies on for anti-Chinese corporate stuff.  …"China Labor something-or-other". First time I read one of their releases, I did a search on the group's history. They turned to be - originally - funded by the Brits to try to stop the return of Hong Kong to China provenance when their Imperial-era 99-year lease ran out.

Funding by the Brits dried up. So, they re-jiggered their "mandate" and switched over to the old network of warlord historians and cold warriors in the GOUSA. Issuing crap press releases most often about Apple subcontractors is pretty much how they earn their stipend.
