  • Artists claim Apple pays in goods instead of cash for Today at Apple sessions

Again, it’s wholly at the option of the artists, illustrator, photographer or writer. As one of the former, I only worked with magazines and agencies which paid. It’s up to the individuals to deal with people who are willing to pay.
willing to pay the way you want to be paid you mean. and yes that's very true. if someone is offering you payment in a form you don't like then just don't take the job.

  • U.S. House questions Apple over FaceTime flaw

    AppleZulu said:
It took a week after the kid's mom notified Apple about the thing for Apple to respond to the issue publicly.

It took a week after Apple responded publicly to the thing for Congress to respond by writing Apple a letter asking why it took them a week to respond.

    I'm just saying.
difference is that Apple was notified but the woman hadn't notified the right group. sounds like she sent a message to the general feedback off the site or something about as vague and it took several days for the information to get to the right group to figure out what exactly the flaw was. meanwhile said woman, apparently made that Tim Cook didn't personally call to offer her a fat reward, announced the flaw on social media. and THAT is when folks knew it existed. and Apple shut down the server within like 24 hours.
Congress knew about the issue for a week, publicly knew, and did nothing.

  • New lawsuit alleges MagSafe spark ignited oxygen unit

If there is any truth in the story.

Why she plugged in the MagSafe so close to her face? Unless she has really really short arms.

Unless she was in a pure oxygen room. How can the MagSafe made a spark 59 ignite the oxygen. Not to mention the oxygen from the mask is rather small amount. Unless she stayed in Michael Jackson’s oxygen bed.

The oxygen tank did not explode, or she will be killed.

Add to that questions like ‘what was the state of the adapter’. I mean if it was old and frayed then it was on her to replace it. Also was she given any warnings about using electronics with the oxygen going. I remember visiting a friend in hospital who was on oxygen and they told us not to use our phones in the room and to be careful about rubbing against the bed clothes etc cause of static electricity

and then yes there is the issue of how that spark caused a fire that burned her face but didn’t blow up the tank etc

  • Google charging Android device makers up to $40 per phone to install apps

Interesting. I would think that this scaled system with discounts for including certain apps would be as bad as no fee but requiring installation. Wouldn’t it just make more sense to say “hey if you wanna give the OS away you have to do it with zero strings”. Or if they want to charge then it’s one fee or sure they can charge by device size if they can show that it’s different software that simply won’t work as you go down in hardware. I mean fewer features for less money makes sense. If that’s the case. But no discounts for installing whatever
