If these tariffs aren’t reversed right away (which wouldn’t entirely surprise me), we’ll be seeing pretty extreme inflation for all kinds of goods, so if Apple raises prices I don’t think it will raise so many eyebrows, especially given how little prices have changed since the big bump we saw with iPhone X in 2017. In the meantime, I guess the collapsing share price will help accelerate that buyback program! Looking for those silver linings. 

The difference in best-case scenarios seems unlikely to matter in normal use, but it’s the worst-case scenarios where you need all the help you can get. Apple has a pretty good record of prioritizing the stuff that matters over what is likely to look best on paper, and it sounds like that’s what they’ve done here. 

Interesting to see who would “buy” Chrome, for how much, and why. Not like it’s very good as a direct source of revenue.

Tim gave $1M of his own money, Apple itself didn’t contribute. 

In the range of possible things they could have omitted to distinguish this model from the 16 that costs $200 more, MagSafe magnets seem like one of the more minor compromises to me. I’m not sure I’d pay $200 for a Dynamic Island, mmWave or ultrawide camera either. Now, if it were a headphone jack…
