  • New Genmoji ad showcases creations that definitely were not made with Apple Intelligence

It is a confusing time in the Apple Universe... software updates promoting features that just aren't available on older devices.

All I want is the glowing border for Siri on my 13 Pro, and it just won't appear. I'm so sad. 😞

It's not confusing at all. Since day 1 Apple has made clear that all intelligence features require at least an iPhone 15 Pro. You'll never get the glowing border, so maybe make a decision to stop being SO sad about it.

  • Apple's iPhone 17 Slim is a wrongheaded approach that ignores what people really want

Why the fuck not? Not EVERYONE needs to want this phone. It would be a great option for a percentage of the population. Like my wife, for example. Who couldn't care less about having 3 cameras, or a super long battery, or all the bells and whistles. This won't replace the regular or the pro, so not sure why all the whining and complaining. I think its been clear for a while than thinness isn't Apple's north star anymore, and they're perfectly fine with adding size and weight if it means a better product. This will just be an additional option, if it happens at all.

  • Apple stuck the Mac mini power button on the bottom

"every time you need to switch it on".

Sorry, how often is that? The articles make it sound like you need the button to get it in and out of sleep mode, or something to be used daily - I think intentionally trying to misinform people for clicks.  I literally don't remember the last time I touched the power button on my Mac. Maybe every few months? You don't even need it for a restart. When the hell do you need to turn on/off your Mac? Maybe before you move?

Non-issue. If it makes it cleaner from the front, and more room for ports on the back, its a good tradeoff and has zero negative consequences except for taking maybe 2 extra seconds to reach the button that one time a year you need to.

  • New iPad mini 7 gets A17 Pro, Apple Intelligence

Thank you, Apple--I guess--for saving me money again with another mediocre upgrade. STILL with the dated looking fat bezels? A bump to the near useless 6E when Wifi 7 is already here and supported by Apple in other products? No landscape camera?
What on earth are you talking about? It's got the same processor as the iPhone 15 Pro, is 25-30% faster, will run Apple Intelligence, support for Pencil Pro, and double the storage. Plus TouchID and USB-C. It's a solid mini tablet. So what if it's not running Wifi 7?
We don't know how long it will take for the A17 to become outdated in an iPad since the Air uses an M2. I for one was eagerly waiting for a new mini mainly because of SmartScript, but did not expect Apple to use an older gen iPhone processor, an M2 would've been ideal.
I'll try it at an Apple store but will likely end up with a reMarkable Pro this year.

The iPad and remarkable pro are completely different products. The A17 Pro likely completely wipes the floor with whatever CPU the remarkable is using, and basing your decision on the CPU alone seems pretty insane considering the other massive differences between the 2 products and their functionality.

So Wifi 6E is now suddenly "useless" cause 7 exists? What % of users will actually be able to tell the difference? 0.001%? Has almost zero bearing on vast majority of people, so your comment is utterly absurd in its extremism.  As for bezels, thinner ones can negatively affect the user experience considering the size of the screen and how you hold it. As for the camera, again, most people won't give a damn what orientation it's in. Love how you ignore the mountain of other actual meaningful improvements in order to proclaim its mediocrity and make your big statement. Sounds like you have zero reason to upgrade, if those are your nitpicks.
