About fricking time is about it. 

ProMotion in an iPhone and Mac would be sweet. I know it's hard to scale on OLED, but that's what the 999 price tier phone is for, the "tomorrow's tech that's expensive today". 


On the Mac side it would essentially be FreeSync and others do it on current GPUs already. Question is power draw for notebooks, but on the iPad Pro it cancelled out the higher draw of 120hz drawing with the lower draw of idling. 

Prepare to be disappointed on the RAM barrier. Coffee Lake still does not support LPDDR4 (ffs Intel), and 10nm for Cannon Lake is delayed till 2019 at least. 

Taking the heat for Intels flubs must be part of why Apple wants to switch to home grown ARM, having gone to LPDDR4 years ago on their own.

Shame. Only bit of networking gear I haven't had to fuddle with since day one, updates apart (impressively even the 2007 model I have splitting a gigabit ethernet line got an update recently for that big wifi bug, not sure how many other manufacturers updated something that old).
