  • macOS 26 may not support 2018 MacBook Pros, 2019 iMacs, or the iMac Pro

I hope Apple at least leaves Intel macs on a high note with the last OS that supports them at all, good performance and not just leaving them junked

  • Dubious leak claims Clock notifications getting a partial redesign

Just this morning I definitely had the bug where the alarm didn't go off. Tapped the phone, 40 minutes after the alarm was supposed to go it went through the motions of showing a silent alarm, same with my Watch (which hasn't been doing alarms as it should and they've been coming through my iPhone since 18). I'm positive I never snoozed it and this is not what it does if you do, and even the faceID silencing doesn't do this, so it's neither of those.

How can a near 4 trillion dollar company keep screwing up the most, most basic software? Hardware is killing it, software is ruining it.

  • New Magic Mouse said to fix everything that's been wrong with it for 15 years

The charging port location is about the least worst thing about it for me, I hope they redesign it from every atom up.

It feels weird having to hover a finger to properly right click, and there's no simultaneous left/right click which is a bit more esoteric but some apps can use.

The sensor and wireless stack are just abysmal now though, they never updated it in all the refreshes from the 11 year old sensor, it feels bad and skippy and once you use a good mouse you realize you weren't bad at aiming at fine targets, the mouse was. Check Rtings on the Magic Mouse 2 if you think that's dramatic.

  • macOS Sequoia can run on Valve's Steam Deck with hacks

    Marvin said:
The only problem with this setup is you have to install Steam inside the compatibility layers, then install the games inside this, sometimes with patches. It's not very user-friendly.

If it was possible to use either the App Store or native Mac Steam and install a pre-wrapped version of each game that is already setup and tuned, that would be much easier and a license per install could be paid to the company that provides the wrapper if it's from a 3rd party.

Exactly what I mean though. You can make it work, but each game takes some doing, and can be prone to breaking.

I wish Apple and Valve would get together and live up to It Just Works

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max is being smuggled into India to beat the country's high prices

I take it they're only making the regular 16 Pro and not the Max then?
