  • New Magic Mouse said to fix everything that's been wrong with it for 15 years

The charging port location is about the least worst thing about it for me, I hope they redesign it from every atom up.

It feels weird having to hover a finger to properly right click, and there's no simultaneous left/right click which is a bit more esoteric but some apps can use.

The sensor and wireless stack are just abysmal now though, they never updated it in all the refreshes from the 11 year old sensor, it feels bad and skippy and once you use a good mouse you realize you weren't bad at aiming at fine targets, the mouse was. Check Rtings on the Magic Mouse 2 if you think that's dramatic.

  • AirPods Pro 2 get bug fix update for third time in September

I've been hearing a very faint beep when putting them (Pro 2) in my ears sometimes, which some people said they heard when then put them in the case. Either way, this is a much smaller issue for me.

I mostly hope one of these fixes my disconnects in the gym, it's definitely been more frequent since the iOS18 update. It used to be maybe 1-2 times a year, it's been every time since, one will be playing and the other not, or they don't sync on the same transparency mode, or it just disconnects and plays on my phone, annoying and somewhat embarrassing to figure out where it's playing exactly when you're in a crowd lol.

It appears they messed up a few things with the new firmware that went with iOS18 and added the head shakes and stuff. Hope this is a quick fix for that.

  • AirPods Pro rumored to get better Digital ANC in next update

Time for everyone who gaslit me when I said I wanted way better ANC out of my AirPods Pro 2 to disappear into the ether once they announce something better, as always

After all the reviews and gushing about it I was disappointed to find they let in most high notes, so things like my gym, lawnmower, vacuum, or snow thrower remain not just very loud but by removing mostly low pitches they often get even more shrill and annoying. And yes, I have passed the fit test, tried every tip (both silicon and idea wise), and tried the foam tips which only help very slightly at the expense of instrument separation. You lose the highest tones in your hearing first most often, so I wonder if the people gushing about its ANC performance just have degraded hearing, not in an insulting way but I think that's genuinely an explanation.

  • New M4 Mac models being tested ahead of likely October release

Wait wait wait, does this report say that it's not just moving the base from 8GB to 12GB as speculated, but the entry level is now 16GB? That's great news if that's what it's saying! Hope there aren't 8GB entry-er models hiding out there

8 core M4 instead of the already binned iPad Pro's 9 core is slightly odd, but it's 4+4 instead of 3+6 so probably makes sense from an available power and thermal situation

  • iOS 18 Project Greymatter will use AI to summarize notifications, articles and much more

I hope there's AI features to end the massive influx of spam calls I've been getting. I believe this is a thing on Android. Send to Voicemail with the text readout somewhat helps but still getting the calls is annoying.
