I would be interested in Appleinsider doing a little speculation about differentiation of products.
If they release 13 inch air and two 13 inch pros how do they differentiate? With iPhones there has been no differentiation of new products by chip. A14 across the board. Differ. has been on screen size and camera quality and to a lesser extend storage and ram. 3 13 inch are the same screen size and camera not that important.
Current MacBooks differ by graphics "card", clock speed of chip, and touch bar and number of USB ports.
So what do people think will differentiate 3 13 inch MacBooks- especially of Apple follows iPhone and iPad example and puts same CPU in every model.
Apple does not need a cheap phone- as the article shows 8 is that now.
What it needs is a smaller form factor full screen phone. Anyone else note the phones are priced 499 599 699 999.
Big gap in the 799 or 899 range. Perfect for a full screen phone with a foot print of an iPhone 5. MY bet is we are waiting for the size of the notch to shrink or the notch gone all together.
I agree with the last post. The success of this product would be because of the smaller size. Squeese the power of the current XR into something close to the size of the old SE with a full screen and face id and people will pay at LEAST what they pay for the XR. Low price does not need to be the selling point. They can go on selling last years model to appeal to the budget group. But tjere are some people like me who would pay a premium to get an iPhone close to the old 5 or SE size with a bigger screen (ie. the X, XR, XS)
