  • Apple TV+ has a lot of content coming in 2024

I miss the old days of the simplicity of iTunes. You knew exactly where you were, what you were looking at, and what you were buying.

Navigating the TV app these days requires a college degree. I can't image how non-savvy folks manage it.

The number of times I've wanted to watch something only to find out that it's available through a different "content network" and only being advertised inside the TV app.
Wait, what? The TV App isn't only for Apple TV+ content, that's just one channel among many and the app is the launching point for all that content (minus apps like Netflix which don't feed their content into the TV app, for example). The more apps you connect to the TV app, the more are shown. Some content is available from multiple sources, and those are shown on the page for that specific content. If you ONLY want to see content available in Apple TV+ (if that's what you're asking? unclear), go to that channel and only look at its content specifically. It's not that complicated.

  • Apple Vision Pro has 16GB of memory, potentially 1TB of storage

Looking forward to gen 3 or 4. Samsung finally showed of a genuinely great transparent LED display just recently. Sony or Samsung will boil that down to sunglasses size before too long. No need for camera footage of the world around you when you can just see it through a lense. Lighter device, better battery, less bulk, a form factor that gets out of the way, definitely looking forward to that.
That's not how this stuff works. Transparent AR glasses use tiny micro OLED displays that project light into waveguides that are integrated into the lenses to refract light back into your eye while you look off into the distance. You can't just put a transparent display like what Samsung and LG demoed at CES in front of your eyes, as you can't focus on a plane that close up and especially not while also focusing on things in the distance.

This is a new product category. Buyers aren’t in a good position to know how much storage they need. Apple should sell a single configuration and make it well equipped for the early adopters willing to plunk down $3500. This isn’t the time to squeeze extra profit for an extra 500 GB of storage.
It is not really a new category.  It runs iPadOS apps.  People would already know storage requirements based on what apps they want to use.  And the battery life is only about 2 hours, so not much use from it.
If you think this thing only runs iPad apps, you haven't been paying any attention at all.

  • Second-gen AirTag probably won't ship until 2025

The potentially valuable update is to make the AirTag rechargeable. The form factor for the AirTag fits the watch charger very well. As Apple moves to reducing waste, a rechargeable AirTag 2 helps get a check in the box and reduce the hassle of changing batteries. Potentially that update enables them to reuse thinner batteries (maybe borrow from apple watch?).
You do realize that adding inductive charging would increase both the size and cost of the AirTags by a not insignificant amount, right?

  • Apple Vision Pro will ship to customers on February 2

Curious as to how personal lenses will be handled. I intend to order on day one. Will box be sent to me, then I have to take it to an Apple Store to be tested to see if I need special lenses? (I had cataract surgery a while back so no longer need glasses, but do have low-correction readers if I’m going to be spending a lot of time reading smaller print.) Or, do I pick up the box at the Store and get tested on the spot? If the latter, do buyers get preference over demo people in the Stores on the 2nd? Hope Apple will be forthcoming clearing up these questions.
I don't understand the reference to "readers". The way the lenses work in HMDs, you are focused on a distant point, not up close like you would be for reading glasses. When I take my contacts out, I can see up close very clearly. If I put on my PSVR, everything is blurry as hell without contacts for distance. So I don't understand why "readers" are an option here.
