$10 for adding an LTE AW to one’s plan is a ripoff! I think it was Rene Ritchie who tweeted carriers charging for LTE is like one’s pizza costing more if your son takes a bite of it. I’d love to have the capability to speak on my AW while away from my iPhone, but I have my phone with me almost all the time. Still, it would be nice to have the option, The cost to carriers of adding an LTE AW has to be barely > $0, so they are making a healthy profit for doing almost nothing. Assuming most AW customers buy a new watch every two years or so, that means having LTE for that time costs at least half the cost of the watch itself. Like Macxpress above, I refuse to be nickeled and dime’d to death by these dumb pipes carriers. If their fee was $5 a month, I might consider, but otherwise, they can go suck on a beet!

Hey, Dan, I like your theory the "X" is just the "+" sign rotated 45˚. I'm certain Apple will pronounce it as "ten" just like they did with Mac OS X. Like SoggyBottom says, it's wonderful to see your writings popping up more frequently. Have really missed your take on things Apple. Have fun attending the keynote and being one of the first to see and experience Steve Jobs Theatre. I'm certain it will be amazing.

Dan is pointing out the imbalance in criticism of Apple versus its competitors. There has been criticism of Apple that they are wasting money and resources, time and energy building Apple Park, that they "should" have been spending on design of new products, while Google and MS have blown billions of dollars on acquisitions that have cost them dearly. And yet they have not paid for their miscues in the sense of stock valuations and negative media attention. 

Keep writing, Dan! Your takes on tech and Apple are right on the nose and fun to read.

Austin’s far enough inland to avoid rough weather from this hurricane / tropical storm. They’ll be fortunate to get decent rain. 

I’m already finding the new App Store icon to be easier to locate — getting rid of the circle and making the “A” simpler makes it a better design.
