It's not flashy, but the new SE is a super solid base model phone that will last buyers 3-4 years. I have to wonder what the margins are on it? I can see it being a big seller for the crowd that just wants a cheap iPhone.

For all the flack Apple has received over the years for keeping such an immense pile of cash on the books, this pandemic is hard proof that it was a good strategy.

$200 billion in the bank provides the company with a LONG runway to ride out this crisis.  Things are bad, but they won't be forever.  That cash on hand could prove to be Apple's saving grace if things take longer to return to normal.

The sole reason this iPad exists is to get Lidar in the hands of developers before it gets a broad rollout in the fall with the new iPhones.  Whatever form WWDC takes this year, expect iOS 14 to heavily utilize AR and lidar.

Fully agree that this iPad exists just so developers can get hands-on with tech that is coming to iPhones this fall.  I have no idea when a truly "new" iPad Pro will be coming out considering the 2018/2020 models are still powerhouses with little competition.

Heck I'm still using my original iPad Pro 12" from years ago and it's working great.

I have the original iPad Pro 12.9", from years ago.. It still does everything I need, but at the same time the battery is finally starting to show it's age.  I was ready to dive in on this update (I've used the 2018 pro a bit and it's nice) but until I see some specs I might hold out again, at least until the fall.  Especially with all this stuff going on, I'm being a little more picky about spending at the moment.
