  • Apple quietly bought $17B more after record high $24B Q2 stock repurchase [u]

Also think about this.  (Split adjusted). In 2012 AAPL had about 6.58 billion outstanding shares.  Currently they have ~4.52 billion outstanding.  In 7 years they have reduced the share count by just over 2 billion shares.  Those shares are retired, gone.  That means at the current .77 dividend, they are not paying around $1.58 billion every quarter in additional dividends.  They will save $6.3 billion this year just from retiring those shares, and that number will only increase every year as they retire more and more shares, and the dividend inevitably increases.   By 2021 those savings will be well north of $7.5 billion per year, and climbing still.

A billion here, a billion there, at some point we are talking real savings.

  • Apple is America's top corporate user of solar energy

This is great to see!  Hopefully they install more and more solar as the company grows to continue to be 100% renewable.  Let's hope other companies take notice and follow Apple, Target, and Walmarts lead.

I installed solar several years ago, and in the next 4 years my savings will have covered the cost of my installation.  At that point I'll have about 20 years of useable free power.  Yea it was a large upfront cost, but I don't think "quarterly" like a company, I'm in this for the long haul.  It will pay off and everything after is gravy.

  • Raymond James upgrades Apple stock to $250 on 2020 iPhone promise

Not sure where this article is getting it's information, I already have a 5G iPhone. Says so up in the corner of the screen. "5Ge". Why buy another new iPhone when I already have the latest and greatest? The author is mis-informed. /s

  • QNAP ships Mac-compatible USB-C to 5-gig Ethernet adapter

No reason to get this. Never heard of a 5Gbit Ethernet. Ran 10Gbit between switches years ago so why not just get 10? macOS has a driver for 10Gbit Ethernet so why worry about a third party driver?
According to the specs, its a pure vanilla USB 3.0 device, so limited to 5Gbps anyway. If it was a USB 3.1 (any flavor) or USB 3.2 then it would have the bandwidth for a true 10Gbps connection. Basically for whatever reason they are limited by the 3.0 standard in the hardware.
