Contrary to popular belief I think Apple based components on cost. Remember they are adding wireless charging to all "three" phones. So companent cost is important for the 7s and 7s plus. Buying an older version means it probably costs Apple lesS.

I agree, what's the difference between the s8+ and the note 8? Practically same size. This is bs. Apple unveiled the homepod in June and the supposed homepod firmware dump has all sorts of details. If there was not a launch date for the alleged iPhone 8 it wouldn't have been so prominent in the homepod treasure trove. Imo
