  • Apple inadvertently leaks images of new 'iPhone XS'

The larger model should finally persuade me to upgrade from my 6s Plus that has served me well for three years and still has 90% maximum battery capacity remaining. I couldn't justify the 7 or 8 and I didn't care for the X's screen dimensions.

  • Apple 'Gather round' 2018 iPhone event scheduled for September 12

Round displays work well for displaying simulations of analog watch faces, but displaying time in any format is secondary to the other things I use my Apple Watch for in the same sense that I rarely use my iPhone as a telephone. I'd much rather have a larger rectangular screen than a round screen. I've never been fond of the round displays on my Nest thermostat or Amazon Echo Spot. I'm probably in the minority. :)

  • Apple's HomePod claims six percent of the smart speaker market, as Google closes gap with ...

These numbers are not all bad. This product will continue to grow momentum. The sound quality is outstanding at all volume levels. I would put it up against anything in its price range. Yes SIRI needs some work but it is still very useful.
Agreed. I was so impressed by the design and sound quality of my first HomePod that I bought a second one.

Unfortunately, the HomePods get to where they can't hear me over themselves sometimes - even at low volumes. I have to unplug and replug them to restore proper operation. I've had this issue since release and it's existed through all software updates.

  • Latest iOS 12 beta hints at rounded displays for Apple's 2018 iPad Pro refresh [u]

Funny. CRT-based televisions and monitors used to have rounded corners. Towards the end of the CRT era, more expensive models had squared corners. Some even had vertically-flat screens.

  • What's new with Apple CarPlay in iOS 12

As for Sirius, I don't see why they couldn't make an app, but I found Sirius dreadfully overpriced and dumped it as soon as the 6 month trial period was over.
I pay $8.99 a month. I think that is hardly ‘dreadfully overpriced.’
That's too much. I've been renewing the 6-for-$30 "promotion" for years. With taxes and fees, that comes out to about $6 per month, but that's still too much for the limited selection and poor sound quality. The only reason I keep it is for the convenience of having background music. When I want selection and sound quality, I use Apple Music through CarPlay.
