Elago W3 Stand stand makes a charging Apple Watch look like a miniature Macintosh 128K
Must have!
I have Elago's R1 Intelli Cases for my Apple TV 4 remotes and LOVE them.
Without the case:
1. The remote easily slides out of my hands and onto the floor or down inside furniture.
2. I touch the trackpad unintentionally causing undesired operation.
3. The remote gets dented, cracked, and/or scratched when it hits the tile floor.
4. I can't tell which end is up in the dark.
5. The remote scratches my furniture.
Elago's case solved all of these problems and created absolutely none. Their products appear well thought out and well made. I'm happy to see they have a solution for my Apple Watch, too! -
How to get more Aerial Apple TV videos or change your screensaver outright
Interesting to read about others' experiences... I've got three Apple TV 4 devices - all set to download new screen savers daily. Since a year ago when I bought my first Apple TV 4, I've only seen a small number of the same screen savers. I've also noticed that the screen savers are not associated with day and night like they're supposed to be - i.e., I'll see daytime screen savers at 11 o'clock at night. My time zone is set correctly, I have very few apps installed, and the units have been reset and the firmware upgraded several times.

How to fix a sticky Digital Crown on your Apple Watch
I push the crown a few times a day, but can't remember the last time I turned it.
I also didn't realize until a few months ago when the series 1 and 2 were introduced that my year-old Apple Watch wasn't waterproof. Don't let it know, though! It's been sprayed, sprinkled, dripped, showered, and submerged on many occasions while I was none the wiser - with no signs of water intrusion. -
Absent an Apple Siri alternative, Alexa hardware family tops Amazon holiday sales charts
StrangeDays said:zroger73 said:Although I'd rather have an Apple-branded competitor, I'm very pleased with the three Echos I've purchased and use them all multiple times each day for various tasks. One somewhat silly difference is that I find Alexa's voice clearer and more pleasant than Siri's.
Set hands-free kitchen timers when cooking ("Alexa, set a timer for 30 minutes. Alexa, set another timer for 10 minutes. Alexa, how much time is left?")
Add items to my shopping list then use the app to check off the items at the store ("Alexa, add shaving cream to my shopping list. Alexa, add orange juice to my shopping list.")
Set the temperature setting of my Nest thermostat ("Alexa, set the living room temperature to 72 degrees.")
Turn lights on and off ("Alexa, turn the lights off. Alexa, dim the living room lights to 50%.")
Listen to the news ("Alexa, what's the news?")
Listen to audiobooks ("Alexa, play To Kill a Mockingbird from Audible.")
Listen to music ("Alexa, play pop songs from 1991. Alexa, play songs by Paul McCartney.")
Get traffic information before my commute to work ("Alexa, what's my commute look like?")
Hands-free calculator ("Alexa, what is 16 times 25? Alexa, how many tablespoons are in a quarter cup?")
Wake me up in the morning or from a nap ("Alexa, wake me up at 6 AM. Alexa, wake me up at 3 PM.")
This is just the basic stuff that I use fairly often. There are additional "skills" for additional functionality (some useful, but mostly junk - the assortment of which is quickly becoming bloated). Siri can do much of what Alexa does, but the Echos are always on, don't need to charged, and have sound quality superior to the built-in speakers of iOS devices.
