An opinion expressed in public cannot be criticised now, no matter who expresses that opinion whether "FOUNDER" or "FLOUNDER"?

Ever heard of the first amendment, I'm Australian and even I know what it implies.

An opinion that criticizes an opinion expressed in public cannot be criticized now?

A man who founded the company and who still stands inline for every iPhone is saying Apple is falling behind. Your first reaction is to attack him? He may not be active at Apple anymore. But without Woz, there would NEVER have been Apple. This notion that Android is crap software and Samsung makes crap hardware is pure hubris or ignorance.

What  you say is completely irrelevant and asinine. The fact of the matter is that Apple's current success has nothing to do with Woz. Yes, he helped found the company. But he left shortly after, and played no role whatsoever in it's resurgence. To continually credit him with Apple's success, and to go to him as an Apple authority as the media does is absurd, as he's had no input whatsoever in the company for almost the past couple decades. Apple could easily have been failed sidenote in the tech history books, a long time ago, he played no part in its resurrection. There are many people at Apple today (like Schiller, Ives, Cook, Mansfield, etc) that had more influence in shaping Apple and creating its identity than Woz ever did. It's no surprise you jump to support him, since pretty much every single one of your posts here is an anti-Apple troll.

Based on what I've read, I'd flip those names. I want to take some time and learn more about those two…

I think some of the things I listed are legitimate problems holding back iOS.  For example, being able to choose a default app for launching web links or map links would be something most users would appreciate.  Similarly the way sharing works on iOS is a hassle.  Why can I only share to the handful of applications that Apple has baked into the OS?

I agree. This annoys me. I figure it's something that they will address in a future update. There will be a reason for it - it's probably a sequencing issue. Apple obviously wants Siri to work with 3rd party apps in the future so that you can make complex queries. All that requires proper interfacing framework FIRST. It's no use me saying to Siri "check maps" if my default map software is set to something she can't interface with.

While Android might excel momentarily with a few nice user interface elements Apple are laying some *serious* groundwork. Apple developed a centralised App Store that is the best armament we have in dealing with rogue software — and rights a great wrong in the approach Microsoft et al have taken when they chose to palm off antivirus responsibility onto the consumer. Mobile device security will become a huge issue in the future. Don't underestimate Apple's advantage here.

Someone forgot to mention the S3 "Sudden Death Syndrome".   Oh well.

And not a single iPhone has a problem? Apple stores are empty since no one goes there because all their devices work flawlessly.

    Malware is a non-issue.

Scrolling and general smoothness is still better on iOS, but that's not what I would call a feature.

    Get a Nexus, get updates.

Tablet apps are still lacking on Android.

    I've never resold a phone.

No. I won't. NFC, which no one supports is a security nightmare. I'll pass.

Widgets are so bad that even MS dropped them from windows where you had the screen real estate to use them.

Malware grows by leaps and bounds on Android is a a real issue and is going to get bigger.

If you don't consider general smoothness a fundamental requirement, we are too far apart that too agree anytime soon.

Nexus. In other words, there is only one choice. Ask Google Nexus one people how quickly they get supported. Apple is unmatched. Should I get the new Nexus, the one without LTE. Why would I do that?

Some people sell their phones to buy new ones. In many cases, that covers the upgrade. Just because you don't use it doesn't make it unimportant.

What does it matter if you open it first or second?

The end result is the same, is it not?

No. Nowhere does it show the gallery. It doesn't prove your point.

The biggest draw of iOS, IMO, is that some apps are still just more robust on iOS. Some developers have Android apps, but their not near what they offer on iOS. For instance, I play guitar, and AmpliTube is something I'm considering adding to my arsenal, and it isn't even available on the Android system. Other than that, I'd seriously consider a Nexus phone because, yes widgets are fun and useful, otherwise you wouldn't have them on you OSX dashboard, and Google Maps with Navigation just rocks. The customization options on Android are just endless. I'll most likely upgrade to iPhone 5, but Apple really needs to do something. Android is becoming more and more innovative and iPhone appears more and more stale.

I know...I know... Many of you are gonna come out of the woodwork and cry that Apple knows best, and if Apple doesn't offer it, you don't need it...blah, blah, blah. You're in denial.

Do you know how to express yourself rationally and with class? Do you ever look back at the diatribe that you spew? I am willing to bet that you don't dare to talk this way in person.

Once you learn how to behave in a dignified way, then perhaps you can question Woz's class and decency.

    Sigh ...

Actionable notifications, quick toggles for settings, choice of default app for a given action, widgets, NFC, sharing from one app to any other app that can share, drag and drop files over USB, etc.

You forgot to mention the lack of a Floppy disc drive.

The only place where I see iOS is "behind" is in being open to malware and viruses.
