I'm with you man, these people are ridiculous and so close-minded.

Gotta love all these people who have never used iOS 7 calling it a "downgrade".

    Here's the reality: It's fantastic. It's a huge upgrade.

I didn't like the look of it when previewed at WWDC, but having upgraded, I'm very happy with it.

But of course, the typical fandroid/apple hater is just looking for an excuse.

How many times has Apple released something that is significantly better and we've heard them whine about it?

The iPad: "just a big iPod touch"
    The iPhone: "no keyboard, doomed"
The iPad Mini: "android has had this all along!" (never mind the crappy software)
The iPod: "no built in radio, less storage than (device 3 times as big and heavy) lame".

They'll never learn, no matter how many hundreds of billions of dollars worth Apple sells, they'll claim it's a failure.

If you think that having a different opinion than yours constitutes "trolling", you may wish to refrain from using forums such as this. Otherwise, please feel free to respond with valid arguments - most of my friends do NOT like iOS7; iPhone 5C sales are already a disaster and reflect huge demand miscalculation by Cook, the world's former "best COO"; and iTunes 11 is most decidedly a pathetic upgrade on all counts...so again: prove me wrong.

Prove the 5C is failing. You can't. So your friends may be adverse to change. I like iOS 7 although it has some annoying bugs.

Yeah, in 2 yrs when Apple drops support for iOS6, everyone will be on iOS7.

Nope, people who can't upgrade will be on iOS 6. iOS 6 won't self destruct.

I have to strongly disagree with your logic. Some of my favorite albums took more than a few complete listens before I could realize how good they were. Some of them, before being given a few chances, I even thought were downright horrible.

So iOS 7 is indeed different, and I understand why y'all are so terrified of trying something new and different, but you'll find your way over eventually. And I'd be willing to bet that those who do grudgingly make the switch will love it within a month or two (secretly or otherwise).

Funny, this report comes out a month after IOS7 available.  I pay more credence to Chitika who real-time reported the data and their graphs actually have a scale!  Another set of data from Mixpanel This data from Mixpanel has iOS 7 adoption at 60.8%, iOS 6 at 35.53%, and all older versions combined at 3.67%.  In a single week, Apple has been able to convince the majority of its mobile customers to update to a drastically redesigned operating system.

Sadly, Android isn’t doing quite as well with its newest versions. Android 4.2.x (Jelly Bean) is only at 8.5% penetration on Android devices, and that launched in November of last year. Android 4.3 didn’t even make it to 1% in time to be counted on this chart. Hell, Android 2.3.x (Gingerbread) still holds a shocking 30.7% install base, and it’s over two years old now. Even though Google seems to be working hard to reduce the impact of fragmentation, it still has a lot of work ahead of itself.

UPDATE: iOS 7 on 52% of iOS Devices One Week After Public Release

    • 19 September 2013

UPDATE 2 (9/25/13): By the afternoon of September 25th, 2013, one week following the release of iOS 7, over 51% of North American iOS-based Web traffic was generated by iOS 7 users, again outpacing iOS 6 over the same time period.

What?  Other mobile operating systems are running regularly at pixel densities and absolute resolutions that far exceed the Retina displays in the iPhone and iPad.

Unless you mean the first and only mobile OS to be designed for a 640x960 display, then I have no qualms.

Talk about fallacious. We're not talking about a drug.  HEROIN has quantifiable negative physiological and psychological effects and no positive ones. It is also illegal.

iOS is not illegal and what we have is a difference of opinion. You don't like it.  Fine. I do. It works for me at least as well in most cases and better in others than iOS 7.

I think the originals poster's point is that in his judgment, most complaints fade with experience with the product. While anecdotal, I agree. The number of "iOS is bad." stories have fallen just as always does after a new release.

"Running on" and "taking advantage of" are two different things. Software can run on a multi-core processor and not take advantage of it.

So if you're talking about the total user base, percentages are likely to trend lower, even if absolute numbers of first-day upgrades increase.

Good analysis. As iPhone saturation increases, the percentage of early adopters decreases.

Even if any of that is true (I love the part about basing your argument on what Cook "implied"), which I doubt, who cares?  Would it the same "bad" news if Toyota rolled out two new version of the Prius and they outsold every other hybrid but the more expensive model surprisingly outsold the cheaper one?  Perhaps this is a new version of the half empty/half full metaphor, now we have the "oh no, my glass is overflowing!" problem.

Yes. google it. The answer to how you will like it. Good answer. /s

Control Center, the new notifications, swiping from left to right to go back a screen, the new Safari, the app switcher (multi-tasker), etc.

I would NEVER go back to iOS 6 and using iOS 5 on my iPad is awful now. :(  Well not awful, but makes it feel so dated.

I feel the same way. My wife wasn't too crazy about it at first, but is fine now; my cousin wasn't happy until I showed her a couple of things.

Thing is, iOS 7 was not designed for current and even most recent releases of hardware. It was a preparation for next year. (IMHO of course)

Well, this graph has the luxury of not having any numbers on it. I liked that part the best.

Well, I sadly updated to iOS 7 - now it makes me feel sick when I use my iPad mini ... just like others have reported. I wish I could go back to iOS 6 - is that possible???. I don't use my iPad mini much anymore. The design under iOS6 just looked/felt nicer too. I just feel wheezy under iOS7

I call bullsh*t. This report is full of it. People LOVE iOS7. iOS7 is way more popular than iOS6 was and is. This report is false.

Not to be all nitpicky or anything, but heroin DEFINITELY has some positive effects. Just... they're rather short-term.

Have to love people bragging about devices with resolutions higher than your eye can discern.  Apple was the one that pushed technology into the retina area... and now, like they always do, the mindless android competition takes it as far as they can as if going from 300dpi to 400 dpi is some sort of advantage.  (well, if lower battery life, and a bigger, heavier, poorer quality experience were some sort of "advantage".)

Talk about specs for specs sake.

Meanwhile, when Apple moves the state of the art forward, they call it "change for change's sake".

Its like they are completely irrational.

I wasn't sure about iOS 7 when I saw the screenshots and videos, but honestly I barely notice the aesthetic changes now I'm using it and the new features are a huge improvement. Surprisingly, I haven't heard a single bad thing about it from relatives or regular folk.

Interesting assertion, but then how to you explain that a few weeks ago Apple modified the App Store so that developers can make older versions of their apps available indefinitely.  So if I'm running an older version of an app on my iOS 6 device, I can still upgrade to the latest iOS 6 version of the app even if the developer has moved on to only supporting iOS 7.  Why would Apple do that if they had "dropped support" for iOS 6?

This analysis of the punt return arrives well after both teams have left the stadium, as iOS7 adoption is at about 75 percent by now.
