Yes, the patent system needs work, but your previous statement is complete bullshit. Apple's patents, especially the ones it's defending, are extremely specific and detailed, and it has shown a mountain of evidence over how Samsung has systematically and methodically ripped off these specific implementations, through Samsung's own documentation.  But I see you're going for the intellectually dishonest "lol rounded corners" meme, so whatever floats your boat.

Florian and you are neglecting the fact that Apple has settled with other major players in mobile hardware, Apple can legally be discriminatory in its pricing because its patents are nonessential and Samsung chose to infringe, and Samsung is the only major player that hasn't agreed not to copy Apple's designs. Under those conditions, $40 each is a very reasonable--and legal--demand to make of Samsung.

    Remember: it's a free country and Samsung doesn't have to accept the offer.<img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

Perhaps Samsung would like to counter offer by getting out of the business, the schmucks.

Well, Florian has blocked DED on Twitter. There goes the mutual admiration...

Florian did tweet about a few incorrect attributions from DED's article. Wonder if DED will respond and correct if true.

Interesting how Mueller left his tweets up while DED appears to have removed his.

Firstly, Apple wasn't first to come up with "slide to unlock"... http://www.gsmhistory.com/vintage-mobiles/#neonode_n1_2004

Apple wasn't even the first with a capacitive touch screen, round corners or look and feel of a smart phone: http://www.gsmhistory.com/vintage-mobiles/#prada

What Apple do have is the deep pockets to sue others and claim they were first..

Apple have good marketing on top of a good product which was made up of a lot of components from other places. Cudo's to them for the product, keep producing more and compete in the market place - try suing less, it hurts your customers by holding back progress of technology by spending $ on lawyers instead.

Maybe neonode should have sued apple for $40/phone for using slide to unlock!

Or LG, another $40/phone, for Look and Feel of a rounded rectangle smartphone with a capacitive screen..  sheesh

Oh FFS! Into the Ignore list you go.

I'm on mobile so can't link directly.

The thread is "Why did Microsoft port Office to iPad". You claimed there were several better alternatives for Android. I asked you THREE times to list them.

So I'll ask a 4th time. List all the Android suites better than Office.

    Irrelevant. This is Prior Art.

Were Apple the first ones to think of "hey let's swipe across the screen to unlock the device?"... NO - Neonode had what they called "Sweep to unlock" which is essentially the same thing.  SURE, Apple added a bar to be dragged across - nice, incremental improvement not break through new unheard of design.

No doubt Samsung looked at Apple's products to see what works well... just as Apple now is looking at going into the phablet market, or have copied the notification pulldown from Android.. companies look at competing products to see what they can use to improve their own. Good on them, but make them great products or we won't buy them.

Another troll added to the block list. Funny how a block list swells in size when certain articles are posted.

It's my opinion that  Office Suite Pro 7, Polaris Office 4.0, Quickoffice and Google Drive are better options over Microsoft Office Mobile.

Also, allow me to clear up some confusion that I believe took place.  This post shows that I was talking about Microsoft Office Mobile (the 27MB version) the entire time.  Are the three office apps that I listed above better then the tablet versions of Office that are available for iPads?  I wouldn't know for two reasons.  First, I don't have access to an iPad (only an iPhone which only had Microsoft Office Mobile available).  Second, to be able to use the iPad version of MS Office as more then a viewer one would have to buy an Office 365 subscription.  I wouldn't bother paying for a 365 subscription to test out a new product when I already have tools that are more then capable of meeting my needs.

Bull. The thread was about Office 365, not mobile. And I was the one who brought up the 27MB size of Office Mobile and compared it to the almost 900MB size of Office for iPad and posed the question about whether there was feature parity between two Apps of such wildly different sizes.

But we can clear this up right away. Office for iPad is superior to ALL suites available for Android. Better than your list, better than Quickoffice and better than Kingoffice.

Sounds like DED got under his skin. Even when Groklaw called out Mueller by name he never "struck back". He would only say something like "another blog made the statement that......" and proceed to calmly explain his opinion.

Doesn't sound too professional to complain about DED so many times - better to just ignore him. Now he looks childish as well.

That's no confirmation. He just told you that you were a waste of time.

    That CAN be confirmed.

I wouldn't know.  I haven't had a chance to use Office for iPad.

You used to be so fun and light hearted in your posts.  I miss the old GTR.

I've posted about why I come here in the past, but here's the short version.  I'm interested in all mobile technology (well, except for watches and Google Glass).  I prefer Android, but I don't think iOS is bad by any means.  I really should've remembered the link to the original post considering how many times I've been asked.  <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

Every asshat on this site has some bullshit story that they tell themselves and others to justify the reason why they come here day after day and predominantly post negatively about Apple on an Apple related website (the very definition of trolling).

Some are 'lovers of all tech', some are 'bringers of truth', and some are very dedicated Apple stockholders who have owned every single Apple product since before the beginning of time.

Unfortunately, when you take into consideration usernames, post content, the majority of posts in certain topics, not to mention the absence of posts in other topics (ever noticed certain users are never to be seen in threads where people share their positive experiences about owning Apple products?) then it becomes not hard to see a poster's true agenda.

    Give us the truth.

Is it truly that hard for you people to admit that mommy and daddy weren't nice to you?

    ;)
