Hey Ezhik.... please stop, with your pointlessly confrontational, click-bait posts. You have absolutely nothing to say.
There's a good chance that, otherwise, you may not be here for too long. (I am quite sure that you and your views will be very welcome in a plethora of tech sites).
Clickbait? I'm not Gawker.
I am happy with the new features, but I am not going to ignore the fans that insulted them when they were Android exclusive, and now love them when they appear in iOS.
You can disagree. If you said "I don't like the thin fonts in iOS7" that would be an opinion that anyone is entitled to post here, and should not be attacked for it.
But you're not posting opinions. You're posting lies. That makes you a liar.
Okay. My opinion is that it is bullshit that Apple fans insulted Android-exclusive features, yet now praise Apple for copying those features. I think that it is bullshit that they accuse all other companies of ripping Apple off, yet when the opposite happens, they always come up with excuses.
I think it's bullshit when somehow a new product gets called a rip off of an unannounced Apple device. I think it's bullshit to call anyone who dares to disagree with anything a Fandroid. I think it's bullshit that some people go as far as to insult the intelligence of those who chose a different operating system.
My first post was quite confrontational, and I really should've expanded on it - it's not Apple that I'm upset with, it's the fans.
Posting this for the fourth time: I am not an Android user.
So why are you on an Apple forum speaking as an Android mouthpiece?
If you stopped going on Apple forums you'd not have such a chip on shoulder about the way many Apple fans wiew the competition. Seriously, its mostly noise and of very little significance in the big picture. You come here if you enjoy the noise, but if it pisses you off, why bother? Even if the iPhone hadn't been ripped of wholesale by Google/Android/Samsung everybody here would still have been saying everything those companies produced was shit. But the way Google got into the phone business was utterly unforgivable. Coming to an Apple forum expecting 'reason' the way you view it is silly.
I am happy with the new features, but I am not going to ignore the fans that insulted them when they were Android exclusive, and now love them when they appear in iOS.
Google isn't suing because none of it's patented. I'm still waiting for someone to show me anything in iOS (any version of iOS, not just 8) that was a copy of something another company (like Google/Android) have a patent on. Apple never sued Samsung over some imaginary concepts - they had actual patents that they developed.
This is the logical fallacy with people saying Apple and their fans are hypocrites when Apple adds a new feature that previously existed. They list things Apple has added that have been around forever and aren't owned by anyone yet completely ignore that Apple only accuses people of theft when they have an actual patent in place. There's no hypocrisy involved.
So it's fine to copy something that isn't patented? Is that your official stance?
Have you checked to see if Apple is using any patented feature or method? On the contrary whether it was patented or not by Google they still wouldn't sue over it.
It's way beyond reasonable to think that in 16 years no Google-owned patent has ever possibly been infringed, yet their total filed patent infringement cases in their entire company history total... one. And from last year. And not against any competitor. Use whatever explanation makes you happy. The fact is Google as a rule doesn't use IP offensively unlike some of the other techs. So just as I said, Google wouldn't be suing over any of it anyway IMHO.
It's still Android. I test a new Android flagship every year. They're pretty nice, but the apps and software always disappoint me. My opinion, but we're all entitled to that, right?
My point still stands; these features were on Android first. Considering how passionate Apple fans are about ripping off, I thought I'd point out the irony.
The entire idea of a virtual keyboard was on iPhone long before Android, anything derivative of that was on iOS first by definition. Do your comments sound as stupid on your head as they do on the forum?

Link to a single post where an Apple fan insulted even one of these features. Just one post to one person insulting one feature. Are you up to the challenge? Maybe you were just lying? Yeah, I thought so.

"As a rule" Does that mean except when they do? The purchase of Motorola was an offensive patent move. They bought a company that was actively involved in patent litigation and did not stop it. Moreover, they allowed their subsidiary to file more suits. What is up with all the delusional Google love in this thread. Google must have but Motorola for something, otherwise they just lost 9 billion dollars....

Do you have a macro for this comment? Every time...
From my experience the logic always comes around to that everything was stolen from Apple. Always. Every time. Every product. Even unannounced ones. Even on features Apple never even had. It's all Apple. Apple invented fucking everything. Because it's Apple. Burning Apple juice running through our veins as we all power our souls with iOS and turn our vision into SceneKit. We power our brain with Swift and put on Beats headphones as we continue our trip through the road where every turn will lead us to Apple. Apple is love. Apple is life.
Your sad attempt at witty prose doesn't disguise your conflicted bipolarity.
Apple DID open up Keyboards, "widgets" and sharing to 3rd party apps. Pretty remarkable change of heart from Apple and great news for iPhone users. It's a very similar implementation that Android had from day 1, and a feature that iOS users will quickly not be able to live without.
Nor will the millions of expected "switchers" either.
Never said Apple should've done that. But when people posted file system concepts, they were treated like files are some horrible 1980 concept that should just go.
Apple have been making computers for the normal people since their very beginning, and I think that's cool. But the fans are quite crazy.
iCloud and exposing the file system are two completely different processes.... and yes, we're all WWDC-giddy, announcement-drunk and happily crazy!
Hint: you're on your way to DrBlank's office of no return... so be careful how you reply... :smokey:

Motorola Mobility does not have a single new patent infringement lawsuit filed during Google's ownership AFAIK. So yes "as a rule". There is a single infringement case filed against British Telecom so it can't be claimed that Google never filed an offensive patent case. They did. . . once.
For the Fandroids in the thread, funny how the Android collective already want the way Apple is doing 'Android-first' supposed features. LOL! Just classic.
So basically they ripped off a whole lot of Android features.
But you Andoid guys all said it was obvious! Can't have it both ways! Anyhow the patent system is broken and software is not protected anymore. hey I will start a new company and copy google's search algorythm and call it ""Screwggle"

Your best post thus far.
Rude.
I am happy with the new features…
You just don’t comprehend them at all.

Like I said.
The only thing more insecure than Android is its userbase.

He's just backtracking. Nothing about his comments indicate that he believed the OP was saying that Apple had purchased Neonode.

We actually pride ourselves on that epitath. "Here's to the crazy ones!" Ever heard of that? If not, here's some inspiration for ya…
Nor will the millions of expected "switchers" either.
You don't know your Apple, tech or AI history at all... and are obviously too bloody lazy to search and learn.

There probably should be, It's amazing the regulars here who still misunderstand or at least feign to.
