It could have just been a long time coming...

Maybe a AI God just got "fed up" and used their authority to give Macintosh the boot...

I cant think of another reason (I know of...) that would qualify a banning Macintosh...

    What was deleted?

Don't you know that the cover-up is always worse than the crime. Wait... did it involve bestiality and drugged South American street-walkers? Oops, that was just my PETA membership newsletter.

He needed to cool off a bit Â?Â*he was going a bit nuts. However, we were just intending to suspend his posting access temporarily, but an internal miscommunication led to his account being deleted altogether.

Clearly, that was a mistake, and his account & post count will be restored. He *does* need to curb his behavior a bit, but hopefully that won't be an issue in the future.

A calmer, healthier Macintosh should be returning tomorrow, I expect.

    Does that clear it up?

He he. At least this is a message board and not something like, say, an air traffic control tower.

I wonder how many big tragedy stories in history have come about because of "internal miscommunications." <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

For some reason, Jonathan and I aren't allowed to use heavy machinery. I think they're just being mean.

I would love to see a message board that was served from a 17 ton steam powered mechanical monster

basically what you all missed last night was revealing that Macintosh was half the members here.

all right, not that much but he has (had?) tons of accounts and was making osts in other names backing himself up. He was creating tons of threads on the same topic. He was getting out of hand with the language. He was changing the title of all his threads. He was being a pain in the ass. And he got kicked.

Personally, I think a ban was good for him. There was some outcry to ban him for his first major incident ( mastergating). Everyone let that go. And then he just went up and above that recently. I see nothing wrong with warning people first but he was warned multiple times and each time he just went an extra step to see if he could get away with it.

3 strikes and you're out rule.

    strike 1: matergating

    strike 2: this past week

Give him a third try, but if he blows it he's out. Tough love. If does something like this for a third time, it would be in his best interest to be banned.

You know - if you really want two users and you don't want anyone to know, all you have to do is find free shell access or something like that, or use a different computer at a different location with a different IP. Or if you're really desperate and your ISP uses DHCP, release and renew your IP for each one.

I think Macintosh did that. After I let out that Macintosh was Fatboy, Jonathan asked what I was talking about since they had different IPs.
