Sep 20: I’m out of luck
I'm going to wait to see if they bring out a larger iPad in October, and then consider my options. I probably plan to use the iPhone as a Personal Hotspot for the iPad, which means not needing the cellular iPad. But who knows? They may price things differently.
You just have a problem with the people who want to carry it around. " src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
I really don't.
There's a guy with a Galaxy 5 which he bought to replace his iPhone, even though he prefers the iPhone because he needs glasses to see his 4" iPhone screen, takes a lot of digital notes, and needs more space than the screen allows. In fact I was jealous of the stylus input for jotting down quick notes -- with all due respect to Steve Jobs, the finger may be the best pointing device we have, but it is not the best stylus. But that works for him and his job. I have no desire to carry around something so big myself. I'm happy with the compromises
I gave directions to a stranger today. She had a Samsung (I don't know the model). My goodness: trying to drag or zoom Google maps was a nightmare! The lag! She expressed frustration with it.
These poor people who end up with a non-Apple phone.
One thing that I have not seen given much attention: Display Zoom
There is literally a feature that lets you decide if you want more real estate/smaller UI...or scale up the entire UI to be larger!!! All this time wondering which they would do and the answer is both!
That'll be good for the old fogeys with failing eyesight.
I am veering towards the white silicon case with the silver 64GB iPhone 6. That case is even more invisible than the leather one.
That case infuriated me yesterday. The constant debate about Apple's pricing is tiresome at the best of times, and one tries to be convincing that the value justifies the prices. Then, on perhaps its most visible day ever, Apple lists a stupid silicone skin that would be $5 at Monoprice and $29 from any other "brand name" supplier for CAD$45. Unbelievable. You can't even make fun of an egregious gouge like that. It's just embarrassing.
Between that, $240 a year for a 1TB of iCloud, and my experience yesterday comparing the Air to similar computers from other manufacturers, I'm more acutely aware than usual that living an iLife is a pricey prospect.
Same here. I was dead set on getting the 4.7" model, but I'm drawn to the better battery life and OIS. Guess I'll be going with the Plus. I may end up selling my iPad mini Retina as well, as that will become somewhat redundant.
I can definitely see where the 6 Plus and iPad mini are close enough in size to debate needing both.
For me, I'll be happy going forward with a 6 Plus and and iPad Air. Though I already know I will be using the iPad Air a bit less, as there a few certain tasks I hope to enjoy on the iPhone instead, that normally demand iPad.
Games - many games that I have on both iPhone and iPad....I've opted to use on iPad. With 6 Plus I hope to reclaim some of that to my pocketable device.
Reading - Safari, iBooks, RSS, Appleinsider! and others. All things I'm more comfortable doing on iPad, but look forward to seeing on 6 Plus.
I'm hoping that there will be a 13" iPad come October. I might just be tempted by the Plus in that case.

Probably not any worse than iOS7 on an iPhone 4. That's an exercise in frustrating lag, too. For me it's worth it for the extra features so I'm not complaining, just pointing out that it is possible for an iPhone owner to wind up in a similar situation.
I was really impressed that Apple gave us owners of old phones the choice to sacrifice performance for features. They don't usually let us decide. I was surprised that there was no way back if one decided it wasn't a good trade-off, though.
That cutout PDF was a great idea. I took my scissors to an Amazon box and used some spray glue to glue 2 layers of carboard together and then the cutout diagram for each phone size. I currently own a iPhone 5.
I use my iPhone a lot with 1 hand. Typically I type with my thumb while my pinky cradles under the bottom of the phone for support and other 3 fingers are on the left hand side. It's a secure feeling, I've never dropped it doing this, and I can control the phone quite efficiently.
However, I have been wanting a larger phone for some time. I love to use my phone for photography and vidoes, surf the web a lot, and like to stream on it. Making phone calls is low on the priority list. So a larger screen would be worth the trade off of portability. But my question was is the 6 plus just too big? That screen would be awesome, and the better battery and full 1080p would be great, but do I want to lug around a 5.5" phone all the time?
Here are some pictures of how much I can stretch my thumb across the screen of each size phone.
As you can see the plus is HUGE! And in order to use my thumb on the bottom right side of the screen, my fingers on the left side need to slide to the underside of the phone, no longer securing it on the side. One handed use is pretty difficult and would be close to impractical. But oh that screen!

I'm in the exact same quandary as you. I guess we're the only two with it.

At least you didn't send her Hell's way like [@]Apple ][[/@] would've done. ????
Interestingly enough if you place your iPhone 5S with the Mophie Juice Cover on it, the 6Plus is barely much larger. So anyone who is use to using the iPhone 5S with the Mophie should find it to be able to use the phone almost effortlessly without a case on it.
I am currently using the 5S. I was thinking initially about the 6+ because my thinking was go for the biggest screen size. I currently have the Mini and a Ipad. I recently got the mini because in some cases the lighter unit will work better with some of my travel etc. The more I think about how I use a phone, I think the 6+ would be a little tricky to handle day to day. I always put some sort of case on my phone. That should be considered because even a slim case will ad more size and weight to it. My thought is the person buying the 6+ will get it and not have much interest for an IPAD mini or possibly even a full size IPAD. When I heard the Apple announcement I thought the 6+ would be the top seller. The more I think about it, I doubt the 6+ in any capacity will be the top seller.

I can see your brain is scrambled, at any rate.
What’s the point of posting directions if people are too dumb to follow them?

Do we all have 3D printers? At least most of us still have to deal with printers.
True, but how to get the feeling of the device if it's a printout?
Acquire some patience and wait for the real thing.
The 6+ is ridiculously large.
The 6+ is ridiculously large.
Yeah, cool, huh? I was afraid they were only gonna go with sensibly large. I'm glad they decided to also go ridiculously large.
All I need now is ~CAD$2,400 and I'm a happy camper with a happy wife!
