Again, it is like counter-acting the SamDung ad campaign. I don't think now people will welcome it.

Personally, would love to see Apple hunting Samsung in their ads, as a ardent lover of "I am Mac" ads.

    Who knows?

Everyone remembers the "Get a Mac" ad series.  It was that good.

But yeah, probably no need to mention the wannabes.  Ignore my earlier post.

The whole 'spec' thing is specious to begin with.   a crappy larger display isn't a big win, nor is image stabilized movies.   Apple is all about the 'system is greater than the sum of it's parts', whereas Samsung in particular, and android in general is, 'we got your parts... we got parts better than any other parts, and your particular need in parts, our's is the bestest!'

That sounds like an ad for Big Weld Industries in the movie Robots.

"See, every day, robots come here from hither and yon ...bringing us new ideas. And I listen to every single one of them. So remember, whether a bot is made of new parts, old parts or spare parts you can shine no matter what you're made of."

While I love Apple computers, I am proud to say I am no iSheep. Hill60 will tell you that Android phones are not 64Bit, however the HTC Desire 610 is 64Bit. While still not up to par with most Android phones or even the iPhone it is never the less 64 Bit. I still fail to see how 64 Bit will serve any device with less than 4 GB of RAM. You point out a better screen. A better Screen than what? The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch screen that has the same PPI as my 2012 Android and it's 2014.

Neither of the iPhones stack up to the latest Android phones, period. The LG G3 2560 X 1440, 13 MP OIS Camera, completely blows both of the new phones out of the water spec wise.

Like I said, I respect Apple's computers being a MacBook Pro and Mac Pro 4,1 owner, however Apple is slipping when it comes to phones.

    I don't mind Android.

It's the second best mobile operating system ever created by Apple.

Google claims to back all the information on the phone to their cloud, in principle true in reality not true, depending on phone like a motorola, they block you from syncing some of the information, specifically save states of games, of preference file of apps, you can not back up SMS. You have to root the phone it be able to use third part apps to back the phone up and get things off the phone. Depending on which contact app you use they too are not easily retrieved.

As we all know you can swap you iOS device in a mater of 20 minutes back up your original to either your mac or icloud account, turn on the new phone hook it to you computer and 20 minutes later it is exactly like your old phone. There is nothing similar in the Andriod work without a lot of playing around, It usually take me a week or so to get a new phone back to the state of the old phone, I work with a guy who keep screen shots of his phone setting and have a bunch of things written down in notebook so he can set up a new phone. I feel bad for the hard cord android user they have no idea and they think it fun to configure a phone as they like every single time.

For all the "ANDROID HAS HAD X FEATURE FOR YEARS LOL" posts, I haven't seen a single one that addresses the above. Android does NOT have a built in, full backup and restore solution, something that the iPhone has had almost since its conception. To me, that's one of the most CRITICAL features to have, yet Google gets zero flack for not having it, and as expected, Android fanatics either dont give a shit, or dont bring any attention to it. You either need to pay to buy a decent backup utility, or download a shitload of utilities, each backing up different aspects of the phone, and pray that they actually restore. I used a highly rated SMS backup utility when I swtiched from a Nexus4 to a 5, and after "successfully" backing up, I was not able to restore anything to the new phone. Same with app saves- there's absolutely no clarity on what is being backed up, and what isn't. Upgrading Android phones while retaining all your data is a fucking nightmare. I guess Android loving neckbeards love that though, more reason to spend hours fucking with their new phone.

But yeah, it's all good. Apple's still stuck in 2012, or something.

Yep, this will be a big help to those considering the switch. The page gets a little repetitive, but I think that just demonstrates how easy it's become to move between platforms.

As TR would say... 'Dee-lighted!' (BTW- great PBS special)

That said, my brother has android and could not get use to Apple iOS with no back button (which I do like), no file system per si etc. The 'Apple way' of document storage can through some people for a loop too.... until they are 'enlightened'(android user have another term that)!

    Hi, I'm an iPhone.

    I'm a Galaxy!

Really, a whole galaxy. That's impressive.

Yes, it is. I'm quite large, you know.

I see that, Galaxy. Good for you.

It is good for me. Not so good for you. You're a puny iPhone.

Well actually, Galaxy, I'm the same size as you, only smaller. And thinner.

So you are. I didn't see that coming.

Maybe you need a bigger camera.

This really brings out how retarded iOS is at handling files. I wish Apple would lighten up and support files in its OS.

Tasker, and derivative apps that replicate some subset of that functionality, really is the only major awesome thing Android has of any importance that iOS doesn't. It would definitely be nice if iOS had those capabilities. I'm honestly surprised they haven't talked to Apple to try to get special dispensation to reach that market, or that Google hasn't tried to buy them up.

Not really. It shows how poorly Android integrates with anything.

    1. They already do

    2. They always have

    3. iCloud Drive’s means of access is everything that anyone needs.

What Apple neglected to mention was how to securely rid yourself of the Android device so that no poor sod could possibly use it again.

It should also be a requirement for those moving from Android to Apple that they:

Have a hot bath to wash themselves of Android corruption.

Wear sackcloth for seven days, one day for each year that they haven't owned an iPhone.

Be prescribed extra-strong coffee for a period of six months. This is to help their brains catch up to the speed of iOS, having got used to the lag of Android.

Gmail is still fairly pathetic when it comes to transferring contacts, I guess it has something to do with them dumping activsync.

Random contacts just don't show up.

    Switch to iCloud. Problem solved.

    Fair enough.

I, for one, would love to see a sustained advertising campaign: 'I'm an Apple. I'm an Android.'

I like snickers, though I liked them better when they were called Marathon and were bigger.

    Yes.

I take it for granted for now, but I remember the pain of losing your contacts when buying a new phone, because 40 of them were stored on the sim memory and 80 on the phone. Remember those days?

We don't think about it day to day, but I love knowing that whenever I get a new phone, everything is transferred zippity-zip. Same with the iPad.

Really no reason for anyone on android to stay on android now.

SD Card, removable battery, DLNA, Miracast,HDMI out supports 1080p for all apps including desktop, unhindered NFC (you can use wireless speakers), full multitasking (your not limited to only a select number of apps that are allowed to run in the background), wireless charging, higher resolution, file manager(my home NAS is mounted as a local drive so every app can save on it without having to do use a client), better communication between apps(for instance, if OneDrive is installed all apps can access it, not just apps that have to be preprogrammed, I.E. Pages), waterproof, better camera, 2GB+ RAM, etc.

You can't simply say there is now no reason for someone to stay with Android, everyone has different needs and expectations, I know it might sound crazy that there are actually people out there that might prefer a different mobile platform other then an iPhone. MySelf, well I am strongly back with BlackBerry, OS 10.4 is friggen insanely cool and the Porshe Design phone I run it on with built in HDMI out is bar none not only one one of the best looking and most enjoyable phones to use since my Nokia Communicator 9500 but it's unique, everyone and their mothers have an iPhone now. I can't wait until RIM releases their new Passport, I'll defiantly be the first to order one. I also have a Nexus 5 which I use for programming and a Nokia 1020 which I use for social media, specifically apps that have to do with photography, not to mention it's the strongest most durable phone I've used as of yet. You could toss it across the street and it would keep on ticking.
