That's the most absurd logic I've ever heard.    What would be correct is "if all drivers are violating the law and the level of traffic accidents and deaths is no higher than it was when drivers were obeying the law, then something is wrong with the law."

Would you say the same thing if everyone in a community became a thief?   That in that case, there shouldn't be a law against robbery?   Or if the vast majority of men became rapists then there shouldn't be a law against rape?

Mike Brown had the attitude of a thug. That is clear to see from the video where he is harassing the store owner. Mike Brown was basically a bully and a douchebag and a thief. It is no surprise that such a person would seek a violent confrontation with a police officer.

In the thug culture, those people don't like to be dissed, and respect is important to them, but ironically, they do not give respect to others, such as authority figures like cops.

There are plenty of videos of cops taking down white suspects and white people who resist arrest. People who resist arrest are all retarded, no matter what their skin color.

If you are a rude and uncooperative white dude who weighs 350 pounds and you refuse to comply with the requests of police officers, then they will take your ass down too.

And also, a black police sergeant was in charge of the whole take down. Apparently they had no problems with it.

This is not about race. It's more about dumb people with chips on their shoulders refusing to obey.

I can't think of any rationale that is more sound. If ALL people are violating a law then there has to be something wrong with the law.

Even your example of rapists starts out by only saying the majority and then further isolating to men, which means you're only talking about less than half the population, which isn't all people… but let's use rape as the example since you mentioned it. What if ALL people in a society were considered rapists under the law? How could this possibly happen without the definition of rape being so profoundly wrong that all people could be violating the law?

Firing his gun... You make believe he shot only once.

    Actually, he shot 9 times

Police are trained to eliminate the threat. MB attacked the cop and reached for his gun.

Like grabbing for a cop's gun? You make it sound like he was shot for jaywalking.

    3) Why would Michael Brown charge at a cop in the first place? It could read like you're stating that certain people are socially inferior and therefore likely to break laws. I'd say it's a symptom of a larger issue that stems of deep rooted racism in this country's past. This can be fixed if we accept and change the cause, not simply pooh-pooh the symptoms.

Why would MB rob a store? Why would the cop try to pull him into his car?

Liberals are to blame for the outrageous cigarette taxes in New York City. It's one of the highest in the entire country.

They tried to ban Coke also (not cocaine, but coca-cola, the damn soda)!

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody were killed for selling a can of illegal coca-cola in the future sometime!

Way to go liberals! Let's make everything illegal! Nice job!

No. He died from choking.   The NYC coroner's office ruled it a homicide resulting from the chokehold and compression of the chest and it's illegal for NYC police officers to apply the chokehold in the first place.   So what's happened?   A guy illegally selling a cigarette is killed by a cop who broke the law and we're blaming the victim.

This is a misconception that has led to much confusion. A choke hold is banned, but it is not illegal. The officer only broke departmental rules, not the law. It was still unwarranted at the time the officer used it.

But ALL people aren't violating the law.   Are you saying that not one single car on the California highway in question is going below the speed limit.   Not a single car?   Ever?     Just because every driver wants to drive faster doesn't mean the law is invalid.    Such laws aren't based on desires - they're based on safety or in the case in the 1970s when many locales reduced the speed limit from 65 to 55, to both reduce fatalities and reduce fuel consumption.

On the other hand, you have bad laws such as prohibition.   But even in that case, ALL people didn't violate the law.

That's not to say that there aren't invalid and stupid laws or laws in which Congress or local authorities feel the compulsion to legislate morality.   There was a book published some years ago that featured archaic laws that while not enforced, were still on the books because it's actually a lot of work and politics to get a law off of the books.

The legend is that ice-cream sundaes originated because some religious leaders with political power thought that seltzer was too "stimulating" and therefore shouldn't be served on a Sunday.  So they got a law banning ice-cream sodas on Sundays and the sundae was born.  Not that might be apocryphal, but some historians believe not.

Silly laws still on the books (as of 1998):

    - In Fort Madison, Iowa, the fire department is required by law to practice fire-fighting techniques for 15 minutes before attending any fire.

    - South Dakota has decreed it illegal to fall asleep in a cheese factory

    - It is forbidden in Miami, Florida to imitate animals.

    - It is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded in Birmingham, Alabama

    - In Rayville, MD, it is illegal for fisherman to read comic books while fishing on a lake or river

    Etc.

What are you talking about? NYC has its first Democrat mayor in 20 years. All the cigarette taxes, and ban on super sized soft drinks (not just Coke) happened under Republican mayors.

If you're first going to commit a crime, it's probably a good idea to commit crimes that don't involve direct confrontations with the police.

Bloomberg is as liberal as they come. He is a big time liberal, no matter what he calls himself.

He's also the liberal that is spending big money all around the country for his anti-American, liberal, anti-gun campaign.

Hmmmmm disrupt holiday shopping, antagonize corporate America along with the shopping public and then wonder why these unfocused, poorly managed demonstrations fail to get support for their cause.

Disruptive protests not only fail they drive support away. The protests don't scare me, what scares me is what will happen when they finally awaken the force of honest, decent, hard working, law abiding, God believing and politically incorrect Americans.

Hell will have no fury equal to the response that will be metered out by the good people of this country when the day for accountability comes. God Bless America.

So where is this ban on Coke? I see a ban on all sugary drinks over 16oz. There was absolutely nothing that would band Coca-cola from being sold Coke in NYC, but you already knew that, you're just trolling.
