I know, but the problem is that the people that pick on me (or whatever you want to call it) won't let it up. They treat me the same way they do the homosexuals at school, like dirt, all because I use a different computer. I need something to fend them off, and they all admire, for some freaky reason, admire celebs. If you have a better suggestion than that, please give it.

You go to an interesting school. Back when I was in high school comptuer platform choice wasn't a criteria for much at all. And I only graduated two years ago.
Tips: Just say that you use a mac because you like it more, and the benefits of a PC don't justify the problems with it.
I assume your friends use windows. Since I'm guessing that they're technical types (who else would give a damn about computers in high school) you can point out that the best technical universities use UNIX for technical departments. Since they have a lot of knowledge of the topic of computers, chances are they're not using Windows for a reason.
I bet if you go into a CS bookstore and take down a list of names, then contact these guys, you'll probably find that at least 50% of them own PBG4's with OS X.
In the past two years I have learned a lot, and have incidentally lost all respect for Windows. It's really an OS for the uneducated user.
Not knowing the leader of Pakistan months before the Primaries, his Yale grades, shall I go on?

I don't really think Mr. Bush is a smart guy, but if you were to base my intelligence on my Princeton grades, I'd be upset. Grades don't mean a whole lot in regard to intelligence. In my case and (partially) in Bush's case, there were worthy distractions. Or at least they seem worthy now!
And in response to the guy that started this whole thing: Yes, holier-than-thou Europeans really get on my nerves too. Actually, holier-than-thou anyone gets on my nerves, but I tend to get that crap mostly from continental western europeans and a handful of people of a certain US minority that would result in litigation if I released its identity.

Did you just make that up on the spot? Many college students would rather find a laptop with more bang for the buck. I've never ever seen a CS bookstore either.
Has anybody here been in a CS bookstore?
I work in a UNIX / CS computer lab. Out of the two dozen or so current staff, only 3 others use Macs and not one of them owns a PowerBook G4. One owns a beige G3, another owns a 500 MHz iBook and I don't know what the other person owns, but it must be a desktop because I have never seen her with a laptop.
You live in ****ing Denmark, how do you know jack about how intelligent our president actually is. I'm sick of people taking cheap shots at the leader of the free world. Someone PROVE to me that he really is a dumbass please.

And you live in one of the largest klan states, G4Schmuck. From your knowlege of world events you might actually be ignorant enough to be a member. US policy affects him greatly, too, so you better get a grip, chief. As for your understanding of your own government, well, Anyway, you're the dumbass for attacking someone about a joke.

OK Mr. Critical, I felt it would be more succint to write "CS bookstore" than "the part of a bookstore that sells CS books."
Maybe your companions should write some books. With the extra cash they could buy PBG4s. Most of the book writing CS profs that I've encountered (from numerous East coast universities) own pbg4s. So yes, I did make that up on the spot, but it was a logical externsion of observed trends (induction), and I didn't indicate anywhere that it was absolute. (use of "likely" and "probably".)
As for bang for the buck, for the regular users in a collegiate environment, there are far too many viruses for to justify the lower cost of a windows machine. I do service calls for the university, and it can be a nightmare for some people, especially when you're the guy whose senior thesis was junked by some virus. (I think these folks would have gladly paid even $2000 extra to avoid this). For folks in the hard sciences, many will need to run Linux or a BSD on the PC in order to run a lot of necessary software. So the bang for the buck argument is a very near-sighted one.
And incidentally, a lot of people who have put up with this shit are starting to buy macs. I'm watching it happen.
Grades dont mean shit. honestly. There are other factors. Nobody knows what goes inside ...whether you have personal issues...or even a problem taking tests or something.
Shaq might help sell iPods, but he helps the RIAA (or whatever the heck it is) with their anti-piracy thing. (thing? geez, I can't think of anything today...)
I remember seeing him on TV saying basically "Any of you guys need music, come see me. I'll hook you up."
Not exactly the message we need spread everywhere... I don't think he meant giving them a good comprehensive CD shopping list.

Probably Shaq.

I forgot about that. There was something on ESPN a while ago showing some of the players going to the Apple Store to buy iPods.

My home state is Tennessee and I've never even TOUCHED a banjo, much less owned a gun rack OR a pick-up truck to put it in.
You spell it "knowledge". What does someone's home state have to do with anything?

Just as much as what country I come from does. Thats the point.

Is that real? I can't believe Bush has time to play Quake.

Now I see it. Wouldn't the Associated Press make them stop using AP though?

Bush isnt as dumb as people make him out to be.
Shaq using a Mac is probably not a good thing.

Why is that?
Kate Hudson probably uses a Mac...at least she did 4 years ago.
