Good luck to you, and just so you know, I'm no high ranker on the social ladder either. I've realized that I need to hang out with people more (ones not on the internet) and it seems to be working somewhat. But I seem to have the same problem of being to mature for most other teenagers (except for my dirty sense of humor). My point was that if you REALLY care about being picked on, just wear a different shirt. It's that easy (or possibly hard).

I try to hang out with people, but it's hard. Everyone by now has their own little groups of croonies, and trying to get into one isn't easy. I just hang out with the people who are also "outsiders". I may look into getting different shirts, but for now, the picking on seems to have subsided a bit.

Ya know what, I had my same group of friends and wanted to branch out. Ya know what I did? I changed schools! I've been going to my new school for 2 weeks now and it's great. Everyone always wants to hang out with the new kid.

I like my school. The teachers are great and, with the exception of the few big pc weenies kids, accept me and are nice. We are a small town and only have 1 middle school, so I'd have to move to switch schools.

Well, the problem never was as big as some of you made it out to be (I said small problem in my first post). It has always been just a few kids that have gotten on my nerves (like 10 out of 1000 at my school). For the most part, I always have like my school.

Ok, I know you're not going to understand this at all. You're probably going to think you do, but you won't. And I shouldn't bother trying to explain it to you, but since there was someone always there, explaining it to me, even when I didn't believe them, I figure I should do the same for you.

First things first, you aren't as mature as you think. I know, I know, I hardly know you. But believe me. In 10..hell, 5 years, you'll know what I'm talking about.

you've got to understand that yes, it's great to like Macs. I love Macs. But, just wearing Apple garb all the time doesn't have anything to do with that. If you think wearing Apple t-shirts makes you original, you're wrong. You're using someone else's words - hell, someone else's marketing, as your own personality. You're a walking billboard. Look at it from this angle. if you go shopping and take some time and actually pick out clothes that reflect your personal taste, your specific style, it's a hell of a better reflection of who you really are. I really doubt that your personality is so weak that buying a certain brand of computers is the boldest statement you have to make about yourself!

I know I'm not that mature. I'm just more mature than most people my age. That I know and I've had adults tell me. If you did know me, you'd know that.

Macs do reflect my personal tastes. I have gone looking for clothes before. Just last week, I went to the mall with a friend who, like you, thinks I should diversify, but I really didn't see anything I liked (except for the one store that sold shirts with computerish slogans.) I like the shirts I wear. They aren't all Apple shirts. Some are just pro mac and anti windows, which reflects my feelings. Some though are "billboards."

It's not that my personality is that weak, but that I am very opinionated. I'm an extremist for what I feel is right. Macintoshes are like the only thing I feel so strongly about that I can express without getting in trouble. I'd offend someone if I wore other shirts.

    double word

I just read this whole thread, and poor taylor gets the award for best post. Listen to it, iDude. Lots of people think they are "more mature than most people [their] age." But, while I don't know you personally, no one your age is really that mature. Hell, I'm five or six years removed from your position, and, while I'm more mature than I was then, there's still a ways to go. So, don't stress, do your homework, and chill.
