Stick to the truth, please. Apple NEVER said even a single watch would be DELIVERED on April 24. They said pre-order shipments would BEGIN April 24.

"Apple Watch will be available April 24th..."

You completely missed my point entirely while you were napping your thick skull with your eyes wide open.  It wasn't until January that "early" was clarified to include April.  That wasn't back in September 2014, that was 4 months later, in January.   Then "April 24" was publicly announced at the March event, only to show up in the store as "delivers April 24 - May 8".  So for some people who got into the first batch, "early 2015" could well indeed be "mid 2015", going by Apple's calendar.

As to the celeb watches, no one has stated that they paid for theirs, or that it's merely on loan.  Hodgman at least did work on behalf of Apple, most of us consider him "part of the Apple family" due to his ad appearances.  I don't recall Beyoncé ever doing an Apple ad.  And many people do care if celebs are getting ones early.  They aren't all editions either, some are getting the mid-tier Apple Watch.

Tell me you're not frakking serious. Just because you describe "early" as three months doesn't mean Apple does. Tell me what the april-June period is named? Not so early 2015? And the July-sept period? Not so late 2015?

Apple has said it will be available on 4/24. It didn't say available to everyone that orders one.

Just because Beyoncé or whoever hasn't done one doesn't mean they won't in the future. Oh and Beyoncé did drop a new album exclusively on iTunes.

You're playing word semantics.  Tim Cook said on stage on March 9, "The Apple Watch is available on April 24th, and it will be available in many countries throughout the world" (Keynotes podcast of the March Special Event, time index 1:29:44).  But everyone familiar with the past history of iPhone launches expected this to mean "delivers on April 24th", not "delivers April 24 - May 8".

So if I preorder the iPhone the day before launch, I should expect it the next day.

    Who's playing with semantics now.

The watch will be available tomorrow. Just not for everyone as expected by smart people.

I received my order confirmation for my ? Watch Space Black 42mm Stainless Steel w/Link bracelet at 12:05 AM PDT on April 10th, with a delivery date of May 13-27.  And as of today, my order status is still reporting as "Processing Items", which is not unusual.  But I received an email around Noon today from my credit card company stating $69.00 was charged by the APPLE WEB STORE.

That $69.00 amount happens to be the same amount as the AppleCare+ for my Watch, but alas, still no charge for my Watch.  Did anyone else get charged for AppleCare+ but not their ? Watch? :???:

I know some people are excited and disappointed right now. But why not wait a week or two to see how it all shakes out?

I'm sure there will be scads of forum members who, three days ago, were thinking they wouldn't touch their watch for another month--and complaining about a monumentally botched launch--who will end up with their watch tomorrow (or sometime in April).

I cancelled my SS order that was a candidate to be bumped up and am still sitting on my June Sport 42. But instead of coming here to whine, I come to hear the success stories-- "Yes! My credit card just got charged!!"

Think about that--Apple has people jumping for joy when their credit card gets charged. And people are calling this a botched launch?? I hope never to buy stock in one of their companies...

"Apple Watch will be available April 24th - May 8th".

So according to you the Apple watch is only available on April 24 and then will be pulled from the market.

The Watch will be available on April 24th. Hundreds of thousands of people will get it then, if not millions. It will not be available to EVERYONE who wants one, but when is that ever the case with big Apple launches?

So now you switch your argument. You previously complained about Apple stretching the delivery times from April 24 to a two week period. Now you've fallen back to a different issue, that Apple Watches won't be available for purchase in stores on the 24th. Do you think you can pull the wool over people's eyes because both issues are associated with the same date? The fact that you cannot purchase and carry out an Apple Watch from Apple stores on the 24th is no different from not being able to purchase and carry out an iPhone 6+ in late Sept last year; it's simply a matter of all available inventory having been sold out. Apple could not have known this when they announced the Watch last Sept, they could not have known this in January when they updated the world, and they could not have known this on March 9th. Just think about all those in the press, all the analysts, and commenters here and elsewhere who predicted the Watch would be a flop. Those folks had no idea, and were screaming from the mountaintops. Is it any wonder Apple would be conservative in its initial production runs? Not to mention that there are 12 different Watch bodies to produce, with no market feedback yet to determine appropriate production levels. So Apple moved cautiously and didn't have sufficient inventory to meet what is beginning to look like strong demand. So adjustments are made; the same adjustments when the 6+ inventory came up short, despite your and other's attempts to muddy the facts.

It'll probably be the 8th. And I ordered at 12:02am, with the confirmation email @ 12:03. I guess the 42mm Space Grey Sport with black band is pretty popular.

Well, shut my mouth.  Just got my shipping notice today, and it's getting delivered tomorrow (the 24th)!

I'm in the same boat (except I got the silver bracelet). I had a $69 pre authorization, but it expired and hasn't been renewed or converted into a real charge. I'm hoping that it will come a bit before the 13th, but I'm not expecting it to come too early. I have no doubt that the link bracelet is the most difficult model to manufacture, and it sounds like it is mostly the sport model (easiest to manufacture) that is getting bumped up.

I had ordered two watches on April 10th around 9 AM. This afternoon, I received the following text message (and an email) stating they have shipped the 38mm sport with the blue band. No news on the the other watch, sport space Gray 42mm with black band.

Apple Store: Good news! Items in order W######### have shipped and will deliver by Apr 24, 2015. For more info: http://www.apple.com/s/W##########

I guess one is better of nothing.

So frustrating.... Order placed 2 minutes after Apple store went live.

    Processing Items

    Delivers: 4/24-5/8 by Standard Shipping

Apple Watch Sport 38mm Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sport Band

No temporary authorization on my credit card, no email telling me that Apple is "Working on my order."

First orders placed certainly are not the first ones being shipped out.

Apple had planned to have watches available for sale in stores on Friday/24. Having decided not to do that, they have many more watches available now to ship to preorders. I think their reasoning was to steer people away from purchasing in stores until there is more supply. Stock would have run out almost immediately, and then people would expect new stock to arrive in the following days. Meanwhile, people who had preordered would be waiting until June. My date went from May 23 to Fri/24.

I ordered my SS with black sports band and an extra milanese loop 2 minutes after launch and confirm email 1 minute later. I am still processing on both with shipment on the watch 4/24-5/8 and extra band 2-4 weeks. I got the "we are working on your order" email as well. Still no charge to card and no change in order. I wonder if they are trying to ship the milanese loop at the same time and it's in short supply so they are holding my whole order up. I'm not going to get pissed like a lot of people but I thought I'd have it lunch day, especially ahead of people that ordered later. But, I understand they have methods of they way the need to ship to make money.
