Note series have the pen, right? So maybe there will be a corresponding Samsung Galaxy Note S6 Edge Plus as well.
The Note series does indeed have the pen. I don't see where there would be much demand for a phone that's essentially the same thing as the Note minus the pen, however, which is why I doubt this rumor's veracity.
Yes, it's about the "Plus," but I really think this is just the natural evolution of larger phone naming, that's why Samsung has used it for some time already as their models grew larger and larger (do I really need the /s?). Of course, this is a rumor, so we don't know if they'll actually do it yet or not. I will chuckle if they do.
What makes me chuckle is that when Apple finally comes out with a device in the large-screen form factor that Samsung pioneered, that's not considered copying, but putting a "Plus" in the name is. If the rumor about the iPad Pro coming out with a stylus turns out to be true, that won't be considered copying either, but I'm sure that'll get turned around on Samsung too, somehow.
The Galaxy Note series has been out for years, well before the iPhone 6+ I might add. What exactly is Samsung "copying" here? Putting the word "Plus" in the name?
(assuming this rumor is even true, which I kind of doubt — the Galaxy Note has too much name recognition to just dump like that)
This article was talking about the Galaxy s6 gaining the 'us' name not the Galaxy note
I bet Cook & Co are actually fine with this move by Samsung to basically make the Android version of the latest iPhone models.
Let Samsung continue to duplicate the superficial physical characteristics of the iPhone. This will clear that aspect from the discussion and leave consumers focused more on the key differences; security, stability, consistent and smooth performance, battery life, software ecosystem, interoperability with computers and tablets the consumer also owns, and external initiatives like ApplePay, Home, Health versus Android's versions. iPhone 6/6+ compare quite well in all of these relative to the Samsung S6/S6 Plus.

Apple came out with a larger screen iPhone (for the 2nd time, with the iPhone 5 being the first) only after bringing 3rd party developers along to make sure virtually everything--all apps--would work smoothly for consumers.
If/when Apple comes out with a stylus-equipped iPad, it won't be considered copying because it will work beyond Samsung's dreams and work so well. Apple will "pwn" the technology. In contrast, Samsung (and Google) try to be first to market, throwing crap against the wall just to see what sticks. Witness Google Wallet (not very sticky!).
How long before Samsung changes their name to Apple* and their logo to an apple with a bite taken out of it (but with a bite 2 degrees off center of the bite in Apple's logo)?
I'm not kidding.
Or how about Samsung having a logo with 2 bites out of an Apple?
Okay the S6 is rumor as not selling well and their distrubution channels are full so they began offering insentives for people to buy them. They think they will solve the problem by making a bigger one which on a limited group is currently buying today. Yeah Samsung has not figure out what is wrong. But then again they measure success on how much they are loosing while trying to stay on top of the Market share heap.
Pathetic! Samsung just don't get it. It's not about the damn screen size alone. Apple actually sold more 6 than 6+ and iPhone 6 has only 4.7" screen.
Samsung need to stop copying what Apple do or it will make them become like Xiaomi. BTW, Samsung may think Apple will release 6S+, so they want to jump ahead with that name S6+ to create confusion, truly pathetic. Guess what, the next version of 5.5" iPhone will still be called 6+ or New 6+. LOL.
Then why did the iPhone go bigger not once, but twice?

You've obviously never used the Galaxy Note. Their stylus interface is actually pretty amazing. It's not just a stylus — it has a full Wacom digitizer, with the quality of a professional drawing tablet for a Mac or PC. It's pressure sensitive, and it even tracks the position of the stylus when it's not physically touching the screen — you can see a little red dot representing the cursor, giving you pixel-perfect accuracy with it, and allowing mouse-over actions. In addition, they have a lot of software features to make it quick and easy to take notes or sketches with it. There are a lot of things I don't like about Samsung these days, but the S Pen is not one of them. It's a very, very high-quality implementation, and really it's hands down the best thing Samsung's got going for them right now. It's the only reason I'd consider buying Samsung these days, personally.

Being blocked by all the carriers except Sprint in favor of some in-house solution of theirs will do that. Also, GW has nothing to do with Samsung.

What a shame a Marathon fan is so confused.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus! What a smart naming convention by a big company! huh?
What trolls/contrarians would say:
"So Apple owns the word 'plus' now???"
"So Apple is the only company allowed to use the word 'plus' now???"
"I'm pretty sure 'plus' existed before Apple used it"

Sad. Pathetic. Predictable.
People who buy Samshit products are clueless.

And it will still be running Android OS or ZitOS or whatever Samsung calls it. Such a waste.

The only plan is to confuse the buyer.
Maybe a good time for Apple to jump straight to iPhone 7 name, rather than have any Samsung 6S/S6 confusion.
