The Note series does indeed have the pen. I don't see where there would be much demand for a phone that's essentially the same thing as the Note minus the pen, however, which is why I doubt this rumor's veracity.
What makes me chuckle is that when Apple finally comes out with a device in the large-screen form factor that Samsung pioneered, that's not considered copying, but putting a "Plus" in the name is. If the rumor about the iPad Pro coming out with a stylus turns out to be true, that won't be considered copying either, but I'm sure that'll get turned around on Samsung too, somehow.
Say what? Samsung pioneered a large screen device? LOL. You got to go back to look at the original iPhone and compare with other smart "dumb" phones at the time. Apple was the pioneer of large screen smart phone at the time. Everyone else just followed and tried to make it larger. Look at Multitouch on iPhone. It instantly made all other smartphones at that time look like archaic garbages. So others followed to make multitouch phone with full browse webpage...blah blah..
BTW, an Apple tablet with pen existed way before the Samsung Tab Note. Got to do the search, dude.

Hey, Samsung lover, they didn't "pioneer" jack shit! Check your history, Dell Streak 5 pioneered big phones! Samsung, as usual, copied!
Lol if you think using "plus" word in their upcoming phone is a big deal, you haven't seen anything yet! Check Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Tablet and you'll see how modest they've been about copying iPhones while they were doing Galaxy S6-S6 edge They changed size and even resolution to match that of iPad Air!
Would that be in the same sense that Apple "copied" the LG Prada?
It's not like you had any credibility to begin with, but what's really sad is that when you have zero of anything to stand on, you (and all the shills/trolls) play the Prada-card that has been debunked on so many levels and shredded... just because you have nothing left.
Then Samsung will rename their phones to Samsung Phone and start with 1 too. Nothing they won't do to copy Apple: S-Voice, Samsung Pay and now this.
I know thy would copy that too, but, it will be a big name difference ending the XS and SX confusion. We would call the Apple Iphone 1 the A1 while the would have to go back to S1

Or rebrand to Apple phone and start with 1

And if they believe that... they'd be wrong
I guess people forgot about the Dell Streak... which had a 5" screen way back in 2010.
In fact... the 5" Dell streak was released on the same day as the original Galaxy S that only had a 4" screen.
But alas... screen size isn't very special anyway. You can basically pick any number and make an LCD panel that size.
T-shirts came in small, medium and large... so was it really a surprise that the next size was extra large?
It doesn't require much thought and effort to take an existing size and add a little more to it.
I never understood the "screen size = innovation" argument.
Really Samsung pioneer big screens phones??

Edit add: and Samsung also pioneered the stylus as apple never used it before???

Samdung is more bothered about short term damage prevention !!!

I honestly think Samsung has a massive mental disorder, as they're stalking Apple at this point, and that's not gonna end well for them... EXCELLENT
i kind doubt that samsung would make this it competes too much with their galaxy note series

Buzz off.

Samsung has been making phones coined "plus" years before iphone 6 plus was even thought about. Apple "aped" their design and idea.

Unfortunately Apple "aped" samsung's idea. Samsung has been making phones coined "plus" years before the iphone 6 plus was even thought of:

Also remember that Samsung has bigger phones first
Only because they couldn't get decent battery life otherwise. And don't forget the shitty screens on those big phones.
Making things a different size isn't terribly innovative, most of the time.
Oh, and they still have those shitty screens, remember.
