The full two-and-a-half-minute trailer for the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic was released by Universal Pictures on Wednesday, giving a closer look at how the film will feature high-stakes drama from the Apple co-founder's personal and professional lives.

The scenes shown in the trailer span many years, showcasing actor Michael Fassbender as Jobs from the introduction of the first Macintosh, to his being forced out of Apple, to his return in 1998 and the unveiling of the iMac.

The preview also includes Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, Kate Winslet as former Macintosh marketing chief Joanna Hoffman, and ex-Apple CEO John Sculley.

The trailer offers the first real glimpse at the tone and content of the film, which is expected to be loosely based on the Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson. The title of the film is simply "Steve Jobs."

Universal released a short teaser trailer for the film in May. The highly anticipated movie was scripted by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, both of whom have won Academy Awards.

Principal filming on "Steve Jobs" began earlier this year, and the movie will hit theaters on Oct. 9.

If nothing else, It'll be interesting to see how a good actor that looks nothing like Steve Jobs plays the role.

Maybe Cate Blanchett could've given the role a unique spin.

Hmm.... I don't believe Wozniak ever questioned Jobs like that. "I'm an engineer. What do YOU do?" Wozniak knew Jobs had vision and talent.

The goal of the filmmakers: Hang loose!

Steve: Woz, I'm looking for a purpose in my life. I'm grumpy.

Woz: Hey, I heard about these things called computers...maybe we could look into that?

Steve: We're clever guys, I'm gonna drop acid and sit under this apple tree while you make breadboards.

    Continuing:

    Steve: Show me.

Woz: Here's this cool idea! Let's give it away for free!

Steve: (places face in palm) Woz, you just design the computer, let me make the business decisions.

Pathetic. Looks like another lazy Jobs hit-piece by people who didn't understand a fucking thing about him, the laziest kind of film making possible. Every SINGLE scene in that trailer showed Jobs in an extremely negative light, a nasty narcissist with not one redeeming factor. Really? I mean, really? This is the person that so many followed, and so many claimed to love?

I find it really off putting how these film makers feel fine redefining someone who has passed so recently, into a monster, for their own benefit, and giving him nasty lines that there's no way he ever said in real life. Nice to see the Lisa thing will take center stage again, instead of so many more interesting things at Apple that actually reflect who he was. I can't believe I expected this to be different and a bit more subtle. Also, Fassbender is a horrible choice, they would have been better off using someone unknown who doesn't create so much suspension of disbelief.

Its a nice trailer. But I still find it very odd even a bit funny that this guy, who doesn't look or sound like Jobs at all, they're calling here - Steve Jobs! Its going to take all my abilities at suspending disbelief to watch this movie, but I'm going to try anyway because it just might be good!

I don't remember ever seeing anything about Wozniak being confrontational or jealous of Jobs like that. It rings of filmmakers making stuff up to add drama. That's fine, but I can't help but think if they knew the real story better, they'd be able to make it dramatic while staying closer to the truth.

Then again, I could be wrong. Maybe Wozniak was like that.

Fassbender looks so different from Jobs that I have some trouble with the character. Been a long time since I read that Bio, but I am not under the impression there was much open conflict between Woz and Jobs. I thought it was more that Woz felt betrayed and maybe bitter but didn't really confront him about it. I recall like Woz being upset about the whole Atari Breakout thing, etc.

Why not focus more on the last few years of Steve's life, instead of regurgitating the Lisa thing again and again for drama? It's clear they got zero input from people that actually knew Steve, as evidenced by his one dimensional portrayal. Looks horrific. I feel bad for Steve's family, his widow and his kids, as well as all those who worked with him at Apple and loved him, to see him redefined to the masses like this as basically the worst person that ever lived.

They tried getting other more suitable actors to play this part - Bale, DiCaprio but they didn't want it.

Sorry, I read your post on the evils of "sugar" last week and presumed you were a healthy eater.

Looks intriguing.  I'm hoping they will also show the older, wiser Jobs who learned from his mistakes.

On the other hand, Kate Winslet looks very much like Joanna Hoffman, and the Woz will be fine as long as Seth Rogan doesn't do his signature chuckle.
