Well, that's what I was starting to think, that its not ready or it would already be on the page and you would not see words like "reserve" and Pickup.. I'm assuming that any other order that's available, will arrive fedex or whatever shipper Apple is using on launch day if pre-ordered early in the AM.

Did you confirm this with Discover? I emailed them, but have not heard back. The news item they put out specifically said "10% on IN-STORE purchases with ApplePay."
Are you planning to use ApplePay when you order via iOS or the online store?
I was planning on ordering on-line ...
I suspect that Discover may be just as unclear as Apple is. It seems as if Discover planned their availability date to deliberately avoid earlybird orders.
The additional 10% is no big deal if all you are paying for is the monthly charge + whatever.
If needed, though, I'll go to an Apple Store to get the iPad Pro ensemble!
I'm hoping Apple is equally screwed up on The AppleTV Developer program -- They sent me an email asking if, as an Apple Developer, I wanted to register to receive an early AppleTV. You're supposed to have apps in the App Store (I don't & never will) but, maybe ...
I wish Apple to switch Gold-white to Gold-black or both this year and have a blast again. I know guys can go with gold, not rose gold. Having it on black would be nice.
"Remember Me" doesn't work on the ipad. It only shows up on the iPhone.
Meh. Suspected as much. Typical Apple. Come up with something that, on the face of it, comes across as really useful, but there ara a lot of little devils in the details.
Much as I wanted to pre-order, I am going to skip the 3.01AM routine on this one. I'll wait a couple of weeks.
Btw, don't bother with calling 1-800-MY-APPLE, the number listed on the pre-order web page. I did, and they're totally clueless on this. I got passed around to three people, not one of whom even knew that there was a 'Remember Me' function!
I called them, too. I concur with your assessment.
I called 1-800-MY-APPLE, talked to the voice recognition robot -- and was immediately transferred to lady who knew exactly what I was talking about -- she said the Apple Financing option would not be available until Sept 26 -- resolved in less than a minute.

The one thing you might want to clarify is that it's my understanding you can set up a reservation for the in-store upgrade program pickup online. So that may go "live" before the date of in store pickups. So asking when the reservations for the upgrade program in store pickups become available (if that hadn't been made clear) could yield a different answer as the upgrade program requires in store pickup so of course it starts the day of in store availability. But the reservation process? Maybe not.

I am a bit disappointed. As a family we have gone through all generations of iPhone and for most of the cases we were fine with not having the phone on first day and never stood in line to get one. For once, I am trying to do a pre-order, thinking that now they have resolved the supply chain issue over past couple of generation, but looks like we now have to wait Sept. 26th to place my order. Oh Well! I guess I will still try at 12.01 to see if there is that mysterious Reservation button.
Apple I love your products - You do a great job with hardware and software on your products and I am sure your supply chain management is great too. But, it sure looks like you still haven't figured out your e-commerce website and doing needed integration. There is always one things or another that is an issue whenever there is some product announcement and ordering them.

Thanks for the heads-up!
I can do this at my leisure as opposed to midnight.

Damn, I wish I had seen this email yesterday (I had not looked at its contents yet). I rushed over there just now, and it said "Registration Closed".
Not having a very good Apple-day so far.
Btw, where were you, AI!? How come you didn't see it either (I am fairly certain you guys would have reported it had you seen it)?
Okay, This is what I saw on Apple's website. If you look at bottom, of the image, it does say that one can make "Reservation" starting at 12.01 tonight. So, based on the original post made by @razormaid, one can reserve starting tonight.

This is so true. I empathize. Apple has been having some issues with managing the e-commerce aspect of many of their launches.
Look at the bright side, however. I am so glad that there's still someone out there whose products I lust after! (Although, the new Jaguar F-Type has me feeling a similar sense of lust.....).
Thanks! I will do so tonight and make sure my son has the App and do the same. I am not about to give ATT my money any more (at least for the phone) I do wished the I can do both the transaction from one phone.

Agree, that is what Apple told me this afternoon. Although you will NOT be able to order your Apple Upgrade iPhone (w/AppleCare +) tonight, the reservation process guarantees you a reservation at the Apple store and there will be a phone there if you qualify. Obviously the earlier you reserve the earlier your reservation will be, earlier you may qualify for credit, and earlier you may pick up your phone. The rep that I spoke with said that reservations would start on Sept 25th, so that phones would be available for pickup.
FYI I am done with AT&T. Although eligible for an upgrade, my contract doesn't formally end until Sept 20th and they won't allow me to unlock my 5s until then. I WAS told that AT&T would roll over my original unlimited data plan (from the original iPhone) to my Apple Upgrade iPhone (unlocked) - but we'll see if that actually happens...
If I dump AT&T, it will include my cell, home line and DirecTV (which they just purchased) - about $6k/year... Bad move on their part to force orders through AT&T and to treat customers like cattle going to slaughter (never had very good service at my house anyway).
I haven't seen much forum activity discussing how this holiday season is going to see poor old Sammy - and anyone else in the higher end Android phone business - crying the blues. Is this the thread to start it on? Apple is going into last bit of its Q4, and its Q1 (holiday) with the absolute strongest iPhone lineup ever by far. The 6s/6s+ have enough great features on their own to command the premium above the 6/6+, to draw upgraders from last years purchases, and of course to bring in those Android switchers (all aided by a new switcher app - love it). The iPhone 6
Bringing back the iPhone6/6+ for $100 less instead of selling a plastic 6C will be the death blow for Samsung. It tells me that Apple is willing to sacrifice some profits to move more units.
Samsung will become a 2nd tier smartphone maker and join Sony, HTC, and LG.
Apple will be the lone top tier smartphone maker.
The felonious owner of Samsung and his totally clueless number one son will have to order their goons to break more arms and legs this year than usual. In addition the Korean citizens are now demanding more accountability of the rich... caused in large due to the "nut case" daughter of the Korean airline owner... Life in Korea is getting tougher for the rich and reckless.
If I am already enrolled in the AT&T NEXT program, and had my phone since last year, how do I upgrade and enroll in the new Apple upgrade program? Thanks.
Just send me $675 USD in small bills and I'll take care of it for you. No problem!

That's what I was told yesterday when I chatted with Apple representative about it. He told me iPhone Upgrade Program only available in store and what I need to do when preorder start is setup in store pickup to use that program.
This is NOT a supply chain problem, no one has any clues as to how many 6S/6S+ models will be available when Launch Day arrives.. There is NO reason to wait if your willing to chose one of the other options related to your carrier, i.e. contact extension, or select a carrier payment plan and more than likely you'll get your new iphone on the 25th... again assuming your with a carrier that provides these options..
However if you absolutely want to use the Apple Upgrade program, which is what the discussionwas about, its reportedly not available until the 26th, so you could supposedly setup a reservation on Saturday at 12:01AM (or your time zone time), go to an Apple Store on the 26th, assuming your near one, and complete the Apple Upgrade Program process and walk out of the store with your new iphone.
Course how the Apple Upgrade Reservation process is going to work, or whether there is one, is speculative until Pre-orders start later this evening.

It looks better in the photos and promotional videos. I just left an Apple Store that has the Apple Watch in Rose Gold on display and it is too pink. Space gray for me this time. Time for a change from Gold.
Regarding 16 GB models ... something called iCloud. That's why.
More specifically, Apple Music. Buying phones with less memory is an option for T-Mobile plans where music streaming is unlimited as part of the package.

Dang it. This Rose Gold thing keeps gnawing at me. I don't care if it looks pink. It is Rose Gold -- metallic and nice looking :-)
If I don't like it I can put an Apple leather case on it or return it within the return period
