2 out of 4 had the issue with the bottom plate not always staying on securely...I also have kids that use these as well so that might be the determining factor :D...ultimately I am glad to see they removed this to prevent it from being a possibility in the future.

Cool. So you bought an extra bunch of shit and it works almost as well.
Or you can buy the new mouse, and another new mouse (extra shit) to use while the first one is charging.

Seriously, through, what are we all whining about? Every two weeks, just charge the damn mouse/keyboard/trackpad overnight. Whoopiddy do.

I can access "wireless" internet anywhere in my house. Can I charge my Watch "wirelessly" in the same manner?
Even wireless routers have a range. If you had a larger house that same router wouldn't provide a connection throughout. Doesn't mean it isn't wireless, same as they watch charger.

Just curious if anyone here has ever noticed the sound that their mouse makes.

I have used dozens of mouses over the years and have never noticed or been bothered by the sounds emanating from any of them.

What I do get annoyed with is using a mouse that doesn't behave the way I want, or isn't comfortable for me to use.

Nola, that's hard to imagine just yet when I have to change out the batteries of my existing mouse every week. That might be the disconnect!

no idea what youre talking about. can you do a proper quote/reply to put context around your message?

But unfortunately, as others have pointed out, they put the charging port on the bottom!? For a company that is so obsessed with design, why on earth would you put the port on the bottom? You have to lay it on it's back to charge.. Brilliant! I know the Apple fanboys will defend every decision Apple makes to their death, but this is simply stupid design.

nope. it takes two fucking minutes to charge for a full day's use. you waste that much time BSing with your coworker. when you leave for the day plug it in...then forget about it for a month.

having less battery life would be stupid.

Actually, the top of the mouse is made of plastic.
Before you start insulting people's intelligence using horrible grammar and incorrect information, you may want to take your own advice.

im not insulting your intelligence. im reminding you that theyre the most successful CE company in the history of the human race for a very good reason -- because they know more than you do. that isnt an insult, it's a fact.

the point isnt whether the touch surface is glass or plastic -- the point is that its the touch surface. durr.

This renowned attention to detail means you can't use the mouse while charging.

yes, for two minutes, after which you and an entire day's charge. THE HORROR....

then you can plug it in when you leave and forget about it for a month.

    yes, i am.

    did you read? apparently not.

in our production environment, wireless mice came about a decade after rechargeable batteries.

you said your office has a 16-battery charging unit. surely youre intellectually honest enough to understand that 1) thats extra equipment. 2) it's not normal, since most people dont have battery charging stations.

Takes me about 30 seconds to pull the spare set of Eneloop's out of my top left desk drawer and pop them in (40 seconds for my keyboard or trackpad since I have to unscrew the battery cover with my fingernail). I'll even give you the 15 seconds to pop the old ones in the charger, spin my chair around, and plug it into the wall.

Either way - first world problems, indeed.

im a tech guy and i had to google what Eneloops were. are you seriously telling me thats a better solution for my senior citizen dad than simply using his iphone cable? get real.

Two minutes where your workflow is put on hold is not attention to detail. There is no obvious reason why the port couldn't be in a place that would allow the mouse to remain functional. Other mice which don't need recharging have had cables coming out of them for decades.

That's not the same at all unless you're phone had to be sitting on top of the router to use that wireless!!!

Let's keep this in context. It IS the same because it's called "wireless" but there are still wires involved.

Then charge it before its at 0?  Make a reminder on Fridays to charge it over night.  Its not rocket science and what are you Bill Shakespeare? Delicate genius never needs a 2 minute break?

Edit: that was supposed to sound jokey, not as mean as it reads

The keyboard doesn't need a two minute break, and nor does the trackpad. If you're going to acclaim Apple for attention to detail, then it's only fair to pillory them when they trip into obvious pitfalls.

"Apple, it just works. As long as you set a reminder to charge your mouse every Friday night"

I can't spare a 2 minute break in the middle of a sales demonstration or a presentation before my board of directors. It's easy to say "you should have been prepared and charged the mouse beforehand. It's also easy to forget (or have someone outside your control be responsible for the technology).

Correct. I love Apple products. I want them to be the best in class and be the very best they can be.

" It's also easy to forget"

As a suggestion? NEVER tell that to your board of directors if you want to keep your job. They might appreciate the honesty, but they'll still boot you for being careless. At least I would (have).  Prep for any such thing must include checking over the hardware. Failure like that is always the worker, never the tools.

I always bring a backup of everything, but thanks for the needlessly snarky remark. That did nothing to address the problems created by this new technology instead of solved.

With a "backup of everything" there is no problem "created by this new technology" is there?

    Skepticism confirmed.
