This is a real apocalypse. WHO is estimating mortality from Covid-19 to be 3.5%. If half of Americans get Covid-19 in 2020, there will be close to 6 million Americans dead by the end of 2020.This is more than four times the number of all Americans killed in all of its wars in the entire history of the US. And that's in less than a year before the end of 2020. There will be another 6 million dead in 2021.

They did testing of people across the board, not just the old and immunocompromised who were already showing signs of the virus, and they show a 0.64% mortality rate, with hardly any deaths being statistically likely if you're under 40yo. He was 36 and in good health before he got infected. if you don’t think that 12 million Americans dead before the vaccine is available is not serious enough, then I can’t help you.

Additionally, we don’t have enough hospital beds for even a small fraction of those who will require hospitalization. People will be dying in their houses, and suck people will be walking around infecting others. Very few would pay $3,500 to get tested. With high deductibles, most will have to cough up the entire amount to even be diagnosed, so few would voluntarily get diagnosed.
In other words, our for-profit “healthcare system” makes it all far FAR worse.

Had a conversation with a Canadian friend. No panic in Canada. Those who think they may have Coronavirus get tested for free. Quarantine isolation in hospitals is free. There are no expenses for an individual involved. That’s why in Canada the chance of containing this virus is much higher than in the US.
