Whether or not he has actual inside info, the general thrust is consistent with current knowledge. Apple is still making the tranisition to X. When they start focusing on taking X to the next level, look out. There is no doubt in my mind that many of these facts add up to a very integrated multimedia hub for the consumer, and a equally integrated workflow for creation.

3) The Digital Hub is great for Audio with Music, still image with Picture, and Video creation with DV&DVD.
But what about Video itself?
Do you use Tivo at home? Do you like PVR?
Do you have Set Top Box for Cable TV?
Do you wish to have inexpensive Set top box with PVR function for DTV, which is including HDTV?
What Apple has been talked about this part of Digital Hub?

I personally think putting all the Quicktime eggs in the MPEG4 basket has hurt Apple tremendously.
Real and WMP are kicking QT butt all over town, in no small way due to the cash grab by the MPEG4 royalty holders. Small webcasters don't see the point of going with a system that will punish them once they are successful, and Big Media would rather the Internet not challenge the Cable-Sateilite big bucks system.
I think Apple should work around the MPEG4 patents with a new, better quality format that will challenge Real and sell a ton of 970's in the broadcast space in a few months. Maybe that kind of big iron, just above the Xserve, would allow them to finally move the product grid to Consumer, Professional and Industrial.
I have been looking at the rumors in circulation, and it looks like Finalcut Pro 4 is to be presented at NAB, or at least by Looprumors and Think Secret, and the 970 and Panther to be presented at WWDC, pretty much aggreed. But...FC Pro is a PRO application, and has an update cycle of approx. 1 year. The 970 is a pro machine. But...FC Pro 4, according to rumors, is coming out before the PM 970. Something is strange.
