    Zing! Ow, that hurt.

I'll let you know when a rational and intelligent human being responds with incomprehension to something I generall post in these forums. Groverat is the only one I have had to repeatedly clarify my postion to on these forums and we were into some really weighty discussions that were all about nuances and definitions.

The only other person that I took time with was ExerciseInFrivolity. But he was a troll of the first rank and I grew tired of him quickly. He was banned from the boards if I recall correctly. You are gaining on him, but you have a rather long way to go. Keep working it, you'll make it.

Yeah... Peace for their sorry a** but not for Iraqis.

You are blind bunge as are the other liberals of this world.

I find it interesting that you unhesitatingly ask this question. Even more telling that you ask it twice and not see how silly it is.

was your foresight so clear that you saw Bosnia lay the ground-work for al-qaeda? Hell, if you have folks going nuts over US troops simply based in Saudi Arabia, think how they will react to a full-on invasion of an arab country.

I didn't see it, because I was a young one at the time and certainly not hip to geo-politics. But Osama bin Laden was certainly VERY well known, especially in the intelligence community. Plenty of people knew him. As I've said before, even mainstream cartoons were joking about him.

It is not as if he came out of nowhere. I remember him being blamed for the OKC Murrah Building attacks (Tim McVeigh's doing, may he rot in the festering pit that is hell if there is one). Hell, some people still say McVeigh was framed by them derned Ay-rabs.

Could this situation "make more terrorists"? Sure.

Will this lead to a massive terror campaign against the US? Unsure.

I think we're arguing over a pretty fine point here (your point that OBL doesn't like our tanks and guns in SA, and mine that they wouldn't be there if it weren't for our initial invasion of Iraq, as well as that our invasion of Iraq registered as an attack upon Islam).

Never mind that we were there to protect SA from Iraq at SA's request. But that doesn't matter to bin Laden, because SA's leadership are wrong to him for letting us be there.

It has nothing, really, to do with our actions in Iraq, merely our presence in SA, be it valid or not. Which is why I scoff at the idea that a UN stamp would have given this action "legitimacy". Terrorists don't give a rat's nutsack about government approval.

The "we will just make more terrorists" argument as an anti-war rationale is a joke.

But what if those future inspections fail to find anything substantive? Oh well, I guess?

If you are asking about what I said... I simply mean we will "inspect" the entire country for WOMD.

No one thinks the terrorists give a rat's nutsack about government approval. It's the other 99.9999% of the world and of the Muslims that would better stomach this action if it were sanctioned by the U.N.

Those people have control over the terrorists though. Without some of those 99.9999% turning a blind eye, donating to a 'charity' or possibly enlisting, the terrorists would all but disappear.

You can argue all day about Osama not caring about the U.N., but you're debating with yourself (would that be masderbating?) because no one disagrees.

But I thought this action turned the other 99.999999% of the muslims in the world into instant terrorists? Just add American troops and stir right?

Maybe, maybe not. But this situation could easily expand beyond the boarders of Iraq and create a quagmire that we didn't bargain for. This sort of thing has happened before when you have neighboring countries that have questional reputations at best. It dosn't take WWIII for that to happen. The longer we're there the more chance there is of that happening.

I'm growing increasingly convinced that this is precisely what they bargained for. Iraq. Syria. Iran. Dig around here for all kinds of information on where our current US foreign policy is coming from (and where oh where is the *domestic* policy??).

Anyone notice that soon we will militarily control the two countries on either side of Iran?

    Cheers

As a matter of fact Iran has noticed it and they're not too happy about it.

About six months ago an Iranian friend of my family's response to the Bush push for war was "You don't think they're moving that many troops over there just to take Iraq, do you?"
