does anyone know whether the new firmware fixes the annoying half a second pause between songs that destroy albums that have continuous songs that blend into each other?

Can it play AAC "plus", since that's supposed to be backward compatible?

    and last but not least....

    WHERE IS THE MIC?

Does anyone know if the back is still ridiculously easily to scratch, smudge and look gross? I was hoping for an iPod with the new finish of the new PowerBooks. I can't tell from the pics. \

So... do you think the 10 GB or the 15 GB is a better deal? I think the 15 GB is, even though the 10 is $100 less... I mean, Apple charges $40 each for the remote, the case, and the dock, and I think I'd end up using both the remote and the dock... and the case would be nice to keep it looking fairly new.

Anyway, I'm gonna get one of the two pretty soon, so I'm just wondering what people's thoughts on the value of the 10 GB vs. 15 GB are. I only have 6 GB of music (not growing very fast right now) so either one would give me enough room. And do you think it's weird that they have a 15 GB instead of a 20 GB? I think a 10 GB w/o cool stuff for $250 and a 20 GB w/ cool stuff for $400 would make more sense

get the 15. for the price difference, you'll be kicking yourself later.

besides the music, remember that the iPod can hold a lot of other stuff as well.

Woohoo I'm going to be in firewire storage heaven! I already bought a 40 GB portable FireWire drive as overflow storage for my 30 GB internal drive... and now a 15 GB iPod! So I should be able to store all my music on the external drive and sync that with the iPod... schweet!

get the 15, as always, the middle ground seems to be the best.

besides you could make bootable backup of your comp. i have an old 10 gigger and i installed 10.2 on it. thats actually what i am running my computer off of right now.

ah yes.. my brain was on temp leave.

BTW, the FIREWIRE + USB2 cable is the same price as the FIREWIRE cable (19$). Can Mac users use the USB2/FW cable as well?
