    so what you're saying is:

    "A little bird told that the cube shall return, after being upgraded with Apple and IBM's high-frequency, point-to-point Mac bus dubbed ApplePI, short for Apple Processor Interconnect, bigger than a Nintendo Game cube"

    "The powermac's flaw shall lead to the cube's return and its rise to the throne, the cube shall rule in the in the games market."

    "The filling shall reveal a crust made from a new language library involving internet connectivity."

    "When the latest version of the iMac, being upgraded with Apple and IBM's high-frequency, point-to-point Mac bus dubbed ApplePI also enters the games market, the eMac shall rein with the iBook and the TiBook before being getting a 16" monitor and this shall signal the cube's return." ?

    Well, well, well, Trinity is back in the rumor mill with buzz surrounding the G5.

    Any new interpretations of these old riddles from 2002? What's shocking is some of the interpretations in this thread are pretty close to reality (read through the old posts in this thread keeping a note of the dates!). Perhaps there's something to these riddles after all.

    (sorry to dig up this old thread but I'd rather not derail the other one)

    I guess not

    I personally think that this was someone's thesis in a psych major and used it as analysis of conspiracy mentality. However, a very entertaining thread none the less.

    It's obvious now that those in this thread that thought Triity had something to do with the G5 and IBM were on the right track. Keep in mind these ideas were posted before anyone had ever heard of the IBM 970, 64bit processors, predating the GP-UL rumors by months. Some posts are suspiciously accurate .

    I think the riddles pertain to IBM. For example, Rosetta is not inkwell, but refers to IBM's MCM design of having multiple cores on one unit.

    Dolphin refers to the Gamecube somehow. Of course, keep in mind the GameCube uses an IBM processor.

    Just for the sake of completeness I'll point out that if there is a PPC975 (and there certainly is, we just don't know how close to release it might be) then there are a "trinity" of POWER4-based architecture chips that have been in planning and development since IBM and Apple starting talking about.

    Perhaps the Cube's return will be as a cheap headless G5 iMac.

    Just speculating..

    "A little bird told that Trinity shall return, after eating pie, more voluminous than a dolphin..."

    "Trinity shall return" - As a codename (PPC975), not necessarily the product (G4 Cube).

    "after eating pie" - Apple pie?

    "more voluminous than a dolphin" - Greater than Game Cube.

    After G5 makes it's entry in Power Mac G5 it'll be in a machine greater than the Game Cube, ie the Xbox 2.

    "El Capitan's hamartia shall lead to Trinity's return and its rise to the throne, Its little brother shall rule in the great desert where the dolphins roam."

    "El Capitan's hamartia shall lead to Trinity's return" - Apple uses a new case for PowerMac G5.

    "its rise to the throne" - The G5 is the greatest processor

    "Its little brother shall rule [..] where the dolphins roam." - Again a reference to Xbox 2 and Game Cube.

    I don't have a explanation to the desert reference.

    "The filling shall reveal a crust made from the Rosetta Stone."

    No clue.. Rosetta and Ink is a compelling connection but completely off topic compared to the rest. I can't find any link between a Rosetta codename and IBM's MCM technology. I'd really like a source to back up Existence's claim here.

    "When the third sucessor of Artemis shall eat pie in the great desert, Artemis' twin shall rein with the agile Mercury and the obstinate Mercury before being eaten by the goldfish and this shall signal Trinity's return."

    "the third sucessor of Artemis" - The iMac G5. Third generation iMac after G3 AIO (iMac G3, G4 and.. G5)

    "Artemis' twin shall rein with the agile Mercury" - Apollo (MPC 7455) will reign with PowerBook G4 (Mercury). PowerBook is certainly agile compared to an iMac.

    "Mercury before being eaten by the goldfish" - The G4 will be in PowerBooks until Goldfish is no more. (Goldfish seems to be an early codename for what became the Apollo G4.)

    "this shall signal Trinity's return." - When end is near for the Powerbook G4 the iMac with a G5 will come.

    And again.. I have nothing to explain the reference to the desert.

    but I thought the first Bondi iMac came out before the all-in-one G3 ever hit the scene (at schools)...(edit: Wrong; last AIO G3 was March '98 and then iMac came in May of that year)

    at the least it's nice to see actual stirring on the board again -- and by familiar faces!

    hamartia

    A localised developmental disturbance characterised by abnormal arrangement and/or combinations of the tissues normally present in the area.

    Your XBox2 references are wrong, forget about it in considering these riddles. If the Dolphin reference means GameCube (and I'm not certain it does) then that probably refers to a processor of G3 heritage -- IBM's 750 line.

    Quote:

    Again, no to the XBox2 and maybe to the GameCube.

    IBM's 750-derived processors were codenamed Sahara and Gobi -- deserts. The rumour from back in March, however, was that this project had been cancelled, possibly in favour of Freescale's new lease on life.

    Wasn't one of the IBM minicomputers codenamd Rosetta?

    Quote:

    Apollo is MPC 7457.

    Quote:

    No, this implies that Mercury will be replaced by Goldfish, not visa versa. Perhaps Goldfish is the successor to Apollo. What happens sometimes with projects is that a goal is pushed out to give it more time to be developed and an intermediate step is introduced. If Goldfish was the original target (say a G4 w/ integrated memory controller), but they needed something sooner then they might introduce an earlier release (7457).

    Quote:

    Unless they are saying that the G5 will come to the PowerBook after Goldfish.

    Ah, what wonderful nonsense.

    heres what i get trinity= multiple things the aim alliance game cube reference and matrix referencve (970 was neo 975 rumored to be trinity)

    goldfish= e600/700 free scale cpus

    little brother moto will have consumer b/c lower power consumption ie g4s /; e whateer in laptops

    artemis 3= emac

    twin brother(appollo)=imac w/ new g4+/exxx processor

    great desset / dolphin reference 750vx obvious like the gamecube but with altivec/lower power consumption

    so imacs have 750vx

    emacs= new g4(7447?) the 1.25

    pm=ppc 975 and a cube comeback

    i/powerbook nw g4 / exxx

    rosetta=inkwell=ink=di=di change to smaller (90 nmppc 970fx)

    makes perfect sense

    all right to the original post heres my trnslation

    another possible thng for trinity=g3 trinity 3

    the g3 will return withthe help of the AIM alliance after having apple pi (750vx) it will have more altivec than the gekko Gc (gamecube) processor

    after the g4s slow speeds cause it to drop from the powermacs in favor of an AIM chip (970) after the 750vx the ppc 970fx 9littlebrother) will be the chip in laptops /imacs it will have a new di process (9onm ie 970fx)

    when the emac (artemis g3 allinone2nd gen imac 3rd gen emac)

    as dual 750vx based processer(or two models?)

    the powerboo and powermac will be the fastest (1.5 g4 and 2.0 g5 ring any bells)

    the powerbook will fall from no2 spot after te imac g5 is released it will then get goldfish moto g5 (e600)

    damn im good

    I didn't even notice the original post date, all of it seemed to match with recent speculation in future hardware. Proof that being vague works when it comes to rumors?

    Of course it's wrong! These riddles are so old that Xbox 2 and the IBM G5 were very young concepts.. If the riddles were accurate then the poster was a high level IBM hardware engineer or Jon Rubinstein or someone like that..

    I did not know about that one you cite, but "hamartia" is the greek word for "sin".
