    nice one!

this is a good comparision pic -- the p900 has a reall 'hard edged' look about it. its angular, not as curved as the p800

Yes, it looks a lot more professional, and less cuddly. By my err reckoning, it is exactly the same size as the P800 and has the exact same weight interestingly.

its interesting that the design trend is now for sharp/hard angular rather than smooth and sleek. e.g. take renault and the way their design theme is being moved across the entire range -- sharp angles, if curves are used then made a feature of, but not smooth and sleek...

i like the p900 shots i've seen. its the raw almost prootype feel to it...

I like the fact that there is much more screen in flip closed mode then the P800. It's as much as the SPV has, the best of both worlds.

I just spent two weeks in France and have to admit that I really enjoyed all the recent Renaults on the road. After driving my Mercedes A-Class rental on the autoroute, I really regretted not picking the sharp new Renault Mégane instead. Of course, it's the tiny Ford Ka that popularized this "Edge design." And back here in the States, I love the look of my Ford Focus.

Back on topic, I prefer the edgy look of the P900 over the P800's softer appearance by far.

The P900 really does look like it will be a great phone, Harald. Do you have any idea as to when it will ship? In the meantime, how about some more feedback on your (Sony Ericsson friend's) test unit?

Well, the P810 / P900 has not been announced, from which we can infer that it does not exist and everyone considering a purchase in that segment should rush out and buy a P800. The images are all fakes and no-one has seen or heard of the device anywhere.

Having said that, I'd guess that it would not be too far-fetched that SE could start work on a new device that may look not too dissimilar to the "P900" mocked-up above in the last week of September and have it in the shops some time in October.

In the meantime, where the hell is my iSync to P800 fully functional version, which is over a month 'late'?

You can say that out loud, Harald. It seems that Apple is dragging its feet on many fronts. iSync development is lagging, no new PowerBooks (where the hell is my Rev.B 12-inch PowerBook, not to mention the 15-inch Alu PB? ), PowerMac G5 not shipping yet, etc. Looks like I will hobble along with my Moto T722i for a few more months too. As usual, I imagine the European intro of the P900 will be at least several weeks, if not months, ahead of the US intro.

Talking about the purely hypothetical P900, which Sony Ericsson might develop if it chooses to do so, Mobile Burn has posted a high-res P900 photo gallery. These guys have their inside connections sorted out straight.

Duh! Didn't realize that Jonathan had posted an inline version of some of MB's high-res pics. After two weeks without Internet access, I'm catching up as fast as I can. Still not fast enough...

Last I heard, there was a release planned for the second.

    Of July.

Some stuff to do with Symbian was causing the trouble. God knows; maybe it's planned for Smeagol, maybe it's being a bastard, maybe the point is to release it same time OTA is released, maybe they decided to roll into iSync's next integer release, maybe ... maybe ...

More P810 photos here. Oh, and it looks like it is going to be called the P810 after all...

    Good spot.

Linn is short for Linnea by the way ... the code for the platform.

I wouldn't say this is certain by the way ... even that proto sticker does not necessarily mean that's what it will be called. The number changed late in development, after the team had finished (if it changed at all, don't know for certain).
