Cougar is the only big cat name left that "sounds cool", and therefore gets my vote. OS X v10.4 "Cougar" it shall be.
Leopard sounds too much like Leper
Lion is too orindary sounding
Tiger is possible but "OS X: Tiger" just doesn't resonate for some reason.
Cougar could work though. It will also be the last cat-named release IMO. Personally I think they should go "cute and fuzzy" to bring more chics into the fold:
OS 10.5 "Wallaby"
OS 10.6 "Meerkat"
OS 10.7 "kinkajou"
Baby Panda...
Furry Harp Seal...
...that sort of thing.
Mwahahaha!!! *LOL*
Laughing out loud in a public library isnt the thing to do... People turn heads and seem to think your nuts!

C'mon, works for the Super Bowl...classier than "Windows 2004"
oh man i cant wait for OS XXX
past fat tabby speculation #1
past OS name speculation #2
I've always been partial to Ocelot as the next code name,
though Cheshire rocks and Smilodon would be way cool.
How bout a completely new category:
Mac OS 11 Anaconda
Mac OS 11 Boa
Or some other animal category.

Only problem is that a Cougar is a Puma is a Cougar, so you run into issues.
Being a dog person, I have nothing else to add. Oh, except this:

That would be hilarious to start a sort of "Cobra" (as in GI Joe) naming scheme from OS X 11.
OS X 11.0 H.I.S.S.
OS X 11.1 Rattler
OS X 11.2 B.A.T.T
OS X 11.3 Serpentor
...
OK, maybe not... but thats what I get for growing up in the 80's
"Looks like a big cat"
"What like a puma?"
"yeah, looks just like a puma"
Lets see if anyone knows where that one comes from

My guess would be, OS X 10.4 "Tiger".

You got the quote wrong! It's "Yeah man, there you go." From Red Vs. Blue, episode 2. Best one ever.
So, what do you think?
10.4 Bigfoot?
10.4 Unicorn?
10.4 Chupacabra/Chupathingy?

I agree completely. Cougar gets my vote as well.
10.4 Mandalay/Bengali
although "chupathingy" has a certain ring to it as well....
Maybe they'll start naming OS X after bears.
Grizzly
Kodiak
...Yogi
...Booboo

Yes but Bengal is also a place in India. Could be confusing. Why not name it Siberian in that case?
Siberia is also a place. It is located in northeastern Russia.
