No, I just don't like after effects. I use it grudginly at times when I need it though.
So you would like to see Adobe stop making After Effects for the Mac so that you don't have the option?
Why don't you use Combustion? What does Shake have (that you need) that Combustion doesn't?
I use Combustion for compositing, but I still use After Effects when I am adding motion to a photoshop file that has a lot of layers. I can't imagine not having After Effects in my toolbox.
It allows you to edit your HDV captured footage in any codec you choose. I use DV anamorphic and I edit in real-time! I can even monitor my edits on an NTSC monitor. Lumiere helps you prepare for bringing your project back online in HD quality thanks to XML.
You can then make a DVD Widescreen from the source HD or Lumiere re-encodes your final product to send back to the camera in HDV.

Final Cut Pro will most likely add support for HDV(currently you have to purchase Heuris' $500 program to import HDV video)
There is a much more complete and affordable product to edit HDV on FCP than Heuris. It's called Lumiere HD and it's only $179!
Check out their website site: http://www.lumierehd.com/
I use it and it's really kick ass!

I highly recommend it.

Do you really want companies to stop developing for the Mac?
No, I think that people would just like to see more competition in this area.
