I don't mind if you wanna post twice in a row, as log as the content of the posts needs their own space. You are jotting down one or two sentences per post, this is annoying and a blunt way of increasing your postcount.
There is no need for you to put up three post when one will do!
If you wanna add something that you may have forgot... use this:
If you want to address two things in one post... put them in seperate paragraphs... you know, one for each thought.
jwri004 and ast3r3x already scolded/informed him about this.
If you wanna read the whole thread before posting, just use the handy Previous Page links at the top of the pages.
Where is the great sin in keeping replies to individuals in separate posts?
If he ganged them up into huge long posts with tons of quotes you'd gripe about that too no doubt?
Read the user name. I assume you are being tricked by the alternating row colors that it is another poster? Then request AI to eliminate alternating row colors. They are deceptive. Distinctive is one thing but giving false cues is another.
Seriously, what is the difference (aside from the "visual clutter" that a foreign language might introduce) between a foreign language thread and a thread that is of a subject that you are wholly disinterested in?
If you see a "South Park" thread and could care less about it how is that any different than a thread in another language? That it might pique your curiosity is one thing, but to tell others they cannot talk in the language they are most comfortable in is outrageous.
We are all free individuals and respect for a person's second-language skills or lack thereof should trump any selfish need to have everyone speak your language or that of the predominant group.

I agree that third post about his multiple posts wasn't needed, but it's just good posting etiquette. There is nothing wrong with posting in two replies, or even breaking a BIG post into two. But it should be done when appropriate and not whimsically when you think of another thing to say. I've edited this post sadly at least 3 times. Good thing there isn't an edit counter
jwri004 and ast3r3x already scolded/informed him about this.
I know... but he had obviously not payed their posts any heed for he continued to post in that fashion. Which is the reason I felt that the third time is the charm.

I did read the whole thread, did you? If you did then you would have noted that I had made comments when this thread just started, which implies that I have read this thread from the first post on... You however must have not seen that, impling that you yourself did not read the whole thread.
Something bothering you today?

If you mean "What is the great sin..." then I will point this out again. Not only does posting like this inflate your postcount, it is annoying to read, spamming a forum is not proper etiquette.

Not at all silly. I would be happy that he has complied with (now counting) three member's request. A long, well thought out, post is much more enjoyable to read.

Well that came out of the blue... err... I don't find that to be a problem so I guess you assumed that (amoung other things) wrong.
I don't care much for personal attacks...
What's on your mind?
EDIT: Also note that he responded to my (third) post and said that he will try to stop. Sometimes people need a direct statment to get the message across.
If you wanna read the whole thread before posting, just use the handy Previous Page links at the top of the pages.
I read everything he said.
And?
I stated my take on it.
He's a moderator, is that what you mean. So what?
That's great, he's entitled to his opinion and to do what he feels is right on these boards. I never talked about this board one way or the other.
What does that have to do with what I think is fair or reasonable or smart for this and other sites?
I would think that more page hits the better. Those ads are there for a reason? Sure, multiple language forums might be the way to go solely for the sake of expediency, same with categorizing the interests and topics.
Frankly I don't see your point. Kickaha said XYZ and, what, I can't simply express how I see things? (Not even specific to this site or with anything he said)
I already said site owners have total right to any arbitrary rules, that's great, so it's not like I'd ever waste time 'demanding" things be done my way. (Although I might post suggestions).
However, I don't like those people who flooded Spymac. First of all, I read some of their threads. Most of them are non-sense. I am not going to support their childish act. Other people were suggested to use Sherlock for translation... what give.
I am walking away from spymac now.. esp. the forum area. I am a spymac member since 2002.. and today it is going down.
Meanwhile, I heard that ISPs in mainland China blocks some of the popular American sites (due to the promotion of Fulan Gong or something)... will Spymac be next?
Seriously, what is the difference (aside from the "visual clutter" that a foreign language might introduce) between a foreign language thread and a thread that is of a subject that you are wholly disinterested in?

Point?
I assumed you didn't read it because you said you didn't see the difference between a thread your disinterested in and a different language thread. Well it hinders their ability to moderate that thread. I never thought about it, but a sucky part of being a mod is to check out threads you might not care about to moderate them if they need to be. Go re-read his thread, he makes some good points and explains extremely well about what the problems are, and even some solutions if the demand is there. I don't see how anyone can argue about anything after his post.

I never said he was wrong or didn't make good points. They are great points. And he is free to apply them wherever he wants to here.
But I guess God forbid anyone disagree in general?
Egh... Forget it...
Swimming against the tide is great exercise but ultimately tiring and boring.
Most, if not all, of your post was directed at me in a negitave way. To state an opposing opinion is one thing but to belittle someone is another.

Mein Gott!!

As you may have noticed Spymac has a large influx of new Chinese users! Welcome aboard and thank you for making this a truly international site. For all you Macintosh OS X users online, you can communicate with our fellow Chinese Spymac members by simply translating their messages with Mac OS X. ...(etc)
(bold/italics mine)
Pertaining to Spymac, if I can assume Ilene Hoffman is a part of Spymac's team and if she is speaking in an official capacity, then it certainly seems like Spymac is more than happy to have Chinese or any users onboard.
That doesn't mean the complaints some of you have aren't valid, but you certainly seem to have a bit of convincing to do with Spymac's management. They seem to be just fine with the extra members - regardless of language.
(disclosure: I do not use that site, am not a member, do not want to join, and some of their pages don't work in my browser, so I can't easily ascertain Ilene's role at that site. I don't feel like researching it, if I'm wrong about her role, feel free to correct me).

And place seems as good as any...
It's called a "pill", steve...take one. Or two.
This thread deserves some sort of award. Just not sure what kind yet...
