Got mine (well my wife's actually when she can get it away from me) from maczone.com, it came with a free airport card, a free case (the blue brenthaven one that goes for $79 at apple.com) and that myob firstedge software. They charged no sales tax so between the shipping and the instilation fee they charged for the airport card it was still cheaper than the apple store. Think I'm gonna have to get another one cause now evertime my wife walks in the room she takes it away from me
Does anyone have conformation of keyboard quality? Does making the keyboard stationary really make a big difference in the 'spongy-ness' off the keyboard?
After breaking one iBook keyboard by taking it out, I like the idea of keeping it there and having the upgrading done on the bottem.
they keyboard on the 12" totally rules. way better than on my 15" TiBook. i love the keyboard. lots of little things on the 12" are better than on the earlier Ti models.
I ordered my PBG4 12" SuperDrive w/ 640 megs RAM, 60 gig drive, and AirPort Extreme Saturday. I hope it ships by the end of the weekend; I have made a deal to sell my iBook this week, I hope that my new machine ships so I can finally get rid of my iBook!
The PowerBook G4 12" seems so much lighter than the iBook, and feels so much smoother. And I really like the new keyboard... However it is slot loading! I can't use my 3" CDs can I?

I think the 80mm CD format is popular overseas -- interestingly, I've seen some "attachments" in a few Japanese bookstores that essentially make an 80mm CD the same size as a regular one.
Ah, my Minibook arrived on Valentines day. What a nice valentine! This machine runs like a dream. After having used a Dell and then an HP for the past seven years, being on a solid machine is so strange for me. I mean, so far it hasn't crashed at all! It's absolutely unheard of!
In the beginning, hooking up my DSL line was a little tricky, but that was just my own fault for being silly and not looking at the manual. Other than that, it's a beauty - and quiet too!
Moral of the story: if you are on the edge of buying one, and are doing what I did by checking this thread every day while trying to make up your mind, don't hesitate! You'll love it!
I went to my Apple retail store yesterday to get a 12" PB, but I wanted it with 640 MB of RAM and they didn't have any 512 sticks in stock. (I know ... I could have bought my own RAM somewhere else but that would have left me with a 128MB stick to get rid of somehow.)
So I ordered online from Apple instead. Estimated ship time was 7-10 days, but after my order was logged I called it up and it gives an estimated ship date of March 3. D'oh!
Good for you, my friend: trust me, you're going to love this little baby (typing on mine right now while my Cube does some 3D rendering).
Having spent a few days actually using mine now, I've got to grips with everything, and I absolutely love it. So strokable, so easy to use, just so damn all-round great a laptop (and it's in my lap, and not burning my nads).

Not if you want to get them back.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?
