So Jobs has been confirmed to keynote at Paris now. He doesn't do too many keynotes anymore unless something new is being introduced.
Now that the iPod Photo has been discontinued, the video iPod is a possibility. The PowerBooks are up for an update, but Jobs wouldn't announce it if it's only a speed bump, and I doubt the new freescale chip is ready yet anyway.
He'll probably talk (in French?) about the Intel transition. I doubt any new products will be announced. They didn't save Mighty Mouse (ugh) for a Keynote.
7448's would be great, especially in the 12" Powerbook. Not a whole lot faster, but run much cooler and give longer battery life. Could be mighty tempting.

Yes, maybe not a big announcement at Apple Expo Paris but a lot of "small" one more things: PB updates, iPod Shuffle and mini update, iTunes 5.0, Motorola iTunes phone (should be already launched later this month), applications updates...
PowerBook G5 and iTunes 5.0 (Video based on Delicious Collection)
Since the following are true:
-It's been a long time since the PowerBook got a MAJOR upgrade
-It's gonna be a while until there's an Intel PowerBook
-IBM has unvieled a 970FX with a power consumption / heat rating plenty low enough for a thin PowerBook.
-Jobs did say "Still have great new PPC products on the way"
I would not be suprised if Apple released a PowerBook G5 with DDR2 RAM, faster graphics, higher contrast display, iPod like trackpad (or the patented iPod holder) and faster (not neccissarily larger) hard drives. If such a product is "announced" in Paris I wouldn't expect it to ship immediately, but I think there is the possibility of such an anouncement. I could see IBM working overtime to help such a product's development happen quickly. They made a low power 970FX, so I'm sure they want to sell it before it's too late. (when Apple moves it's Power lines to x86 in '07 or '08)
i like ive's suggestion of an HD projector. i highly doubt apple would ever do such a thing, but that would be freakin awesome. if they made a sweet, well-made, high-res, cheap projector, that would be so cool. screw 30" display, try 5 feet against your wall. i think that'd be pretty sweet, though chances of such a thing EVER coming to be are almost nil
The real problem Apple have now with introducing a G5 powerbook is the Intel processor that will probably replace it (Yonah) is NOT 64 BIT! So its unlikely from a marketing point of view that they can go G5-->Yonah and not look stupid. G4 (7448) --> Yonah looks much better. I think that the only way of doing it is to have a DTR line of laptops (ProBook?) which is continued on after the Intel books are intro'd and eventually gains the 970MP, a kind of "lugable" Powermac G5 if you will.

Eh, I'm still not convinced Apple will want to use the 32-bit Yonah in it's Power products. Definately in the iBook and Mac Mini, but since Apple's Power products won't be updated until later Intel should hopefully have a 64-bit Pentium M / Yonah derivative ready by the time Apple transitions the power products.
Mac mini (32-bit G4) [now] -> Mac mini Pentium M (32-bit singlecore Yonah) ['06]
The X-Serve along with the rest of the Power line will likely wait until '07 to switch to x86 when Intel has a 64-bit dual core x86 ready. I don't see 64-bit G5's going to 32-bit Intel ever (they will eventually go to 64-bit Intel). I also see the PowerBook catching up to the PowerMac with 64 bit architecture before transitioning to Intel.
*very small chance of 970MP (dualcore) in 15" and 17" as even the MP "antares" is low enough power for the PB at half the power consumption of many AMD notebooks.
the only problem with this scenario (and it is a good one) is that put the change-over to Intel in the Majority of Apples products off until 2007, since the LOW power dual core 64bit processors are not going to appear until then. I dont see Apple wanting to wait that long. Dont get me wrong, I would personally rather have a G5 powerbook (due to the software I want to use on it) but I am now firmly in the "no G5 powerbook ever" camp. It just seems pointless for it to appear now, the window of oppotunity is gone......
I like more apple software than hardware. Apple Hardware is cool, but you can create with software.... I guess Apple Expo in Paris will be focus on Apple Software and iPods.
there was the rumor about an Apple Phontoshop, the Apple Photo Pro, Apple Numbers (a spreadsheet), I think apple remote desktop 3.0 will be awsome with intergration of spotlight and, please, get rid of the metalbrush interphase and use the new spotligh GUI or the Apple Server tools GUI.
also, ipods. ipods ipods ipods! all colors and flavors...

Well If Intel can get on the 64-bit dual core bandwagon sooner, I'm all for that. It just seems wierd to have to go from a 64-bit chip to a 32-bit Intel. Yonah may be more efficient, however 64 to 32 just feels like a downgrade (even if the 32-bit Yonah can compete with dual core 64-bit cpus).

A PowerBook G5? Come on, be serious. That just doesn't make any sense right now.
