My advice is to move on. First, think up some cute reference to Time for tonight's message. How about, "Think Time knows everything?Think Different". Rework the keynote. Move the iMac to the first thing. Say, "we gave you little teaser of this last night, but to really appreciate how cool it is, you have to see it in person." Switch the G5 to the "and one more thing." Or use the new digital device. That's your call. You know more about them than I. If you need more help, give me a call.
Oh, yeah. Almost forgot. Sorry for any part I played in this. I mean I really wanted to know, but didn't want to know? if you know what I mean. Now that this has happened I feel kind of smarmy. I'm really going to try kicking this rumor site addiction.
Time did this to "ginger", too. Or was it Newsweek? I read all about it the night before, in seven page spread with photos.
If I were Steve, I'd want to own AOL/Time Warner right about now. I'm thinking, Apple either gets free advertising for as long as the two companies are existing, or at least free cable internet for every Apple owner. But maybe Steve would want to run his own media company, just change AOL/Time to Apple Media and Computer Corp.

Time had the Ginger story too. But I think that Sunday release was according to plan, to get coverage in the Monday papers and to drum up publicity for the "Good Morning America" show. Time releases news of its Person of the Year on the day before publication, too.
But this one looks like a mistake. Someone at Time Canada screwed up.
MacFixIt is reporting that the article was briefly posted on Time's U.S. site but was taken down.
The way Apple has been playing the publicity this weeks makes me think that, even if Steve didn't plan this early release/leak, he still can't be that p*ssed off about it. I mean, this just whips the frenzy that much higher doesn't it?
Well, it does for me anyway.
Thank goodness the keynote is in the morning, I'm wound tighter that a watch spring.
This either means that Time boobooed and somebody fixed it, or they and Apple are having a lot of fun throwing bones to the Macheads and watching us run after them.

No, it's still there, they just made a new index page that supercedes the original one that forwards you to time.com.
Okay...look at it this way. Apple allows timecanada to leak something last minute so the rumorwhores (i.e. us) get a sneak peak for being up so many late nights.
The iMac isn't the main introduction.
Steve gets up, introduces, changes to the iBook, G4 speedbumps, and the new iMac with iPhoto. Oh, and one more thing...
Stories are placed on embargo, and if the press decides to publish it, so be it. However, then they will face (in this case) the Wrath of Steve (if indeed he's annoyed), and possibly be not privileged to see information in the future.
[quote]Trust me, I was in his office when he found out. I nearly got fired just for being there because he was pissed.

The BS filter just kicked in. Unless there were 500 people in SJ's office at the time, I highly doubt an insider would make himself so easily identifiable.
I don't doubt that Apple Legal is involved, just your phony "insider account" of it.
[quote]Apple legal met with Steve last night? Only if Steve was in town (DC), or Apple's law firm flew out late last night.

Apple can't afford to sue Time. Time would bury the whole "legal team" at Apple with years of paperwork. Time would just keep the suit going until Apple ran out of money....
Much like the Church of Scientology did to the Cult Awareness Network.

Apple legal will not be involved.
