<strong>VIEWABILITY - the widgets are always falling behind finder windows. What's the solution for making these things jump back into view?</strong><hr></blockquote>
[code]
<window title="Window Title">
<level>topMost</level>
</window>
</pre><hr></blockquote>
The level -> topMost tag will keep the widget on top of everything.
I expect that TOPMOST tag will turn into a user-enabled option soon enough, no? Either for ALL or for individual widgets....maybe a check box in the menubar dropdown?
Hey, isn't that menubar applet for Konfabulator a no-no?
It only searches Nasdaq I believe, so You'd have to open the .kon file of the widget and edit that, but I'm sure it'd be fairly easy to make it get info from the London stock market.
Hey, is there a webcam subscription widget yet? Like flipping channels between your favorite webcams? I don't much use them but a lot of people do. May wander over there to suggest it if I have a chance....
Before you do any of that, you might want to download and use
<a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=14077&db=mac" target="_blank">CD Cover Tool</a>. It's a cinch... just drag and drop your entire music library into it, and select all, and click get. It will retreve decent size images for just about 90% of your library, and places the images inside each individual album folder. Those that it can't find, it marks with an x, and then use the method TonTon suggests.
Boy, it really made my life easier. Now I just need to clean up the names so the album widget will grab them. For anyone who's interested, I found it's easiest to just name each image cover.***, and modify the widget by adding this code right after all the other if statements that look like this:[code]if(covers == ""){
don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but use of the slashdot widget will get you banned from slashdot for excessive polling/pinging/whatever of their website.
The only reason is because it was checking Slashdot like three times a minute. If it checked once an hour and also had a manual "Check Now" button, I think it would be fine.
I recently wrote up a little review of Konfabulator, the new widget-based interface application from the creators of Kaleidoscope. I hope you find it interesting:
Hey all, here's an idea I had whilst talking about baseball over in AppleOutsider....what do you think?
[quote] Hey.....
Are there any of them there RSS feeds for Major League Baseball games? Wouldn't an up to date scoreboard widget be WAY cool for Konfabulator? I know this is the wrong forum.....but a little baseball diamond shaped scoreboard would be pretty keen....I don't think that there's any WAY that a sports feed would keep the details of men on base data, but wouldn't it be cool if you could "see" an up to the minute display of where the runners were? I know, if you want it that bad just pay for a RealPlayer Gold Pass! <hr></blockquote>

Now the real problem, does anyone know how I get it to show prices for stocks on the London Stock Echange.
If I can work this out I will register the product.

Have a good evening....or morning. Damn I've been working on this too long.
just in case anyone was thinking of using it.
So, would the creation of an AppleInsider widget cause undue server load on the AI servers resulting in users getting their membership's yanked?
That'd be a bad thing!
<strong>Yeah, they need to make a 2nd monitor simulation widget!!!</strong><hr></blockquote>
They're discussing a way to script virtual desktops in the forum.
