i'm a big entourage fan, but i still only have it for classic. so i'm struggling with mail.app which is ok, but could be so much better. so what are you all using?
I'm using Entourage in both Os9 and OsX. The only problem I have with it under X is compatibility issues with some foreign languages. That goes to the whole Office X package. As far as I know, MS blames Apple for this problem and it'll first be addressed in OsX .2
Runs beautifully. I still think Eudora is the best email application out there, especially for high volume mail. Clean, fast, stable, powerful (filters especially), and stores mail in a very sensible and reliable format.
Mail do excatly what I need. Show the post in my various mail accounts, Sosume when I get new mail and let me post through them. Thats what I need so Mail is the best.
What are the bugs in it beside it showing the wrong number of unopened mails from time to time?
I must be the odd one out here, because I like Mail better then Entourage. As sson as they fix a couple bugs in Mail I'm switching back from Entourage to Mail.
I'm using both Mail.app and Ginko, by objectpark.org(which is cocoa). It's nice/lean amd simple, and most importantly its free. Some of you might give it a try. http://www.objectpark.org/Ginko.html
It's simple, elegant, and works well with multiple accounts. I wouldn't use anything else.
I personally cannot stand Entourage. It's a typical Micro$oft app...too bloated, too many features, and it lacks simplicity and elegance. The best tools are simple tools.
It's quite sad to see how popular Entourage is and how only one or two posters are using Eudora. (But robo's use of Eudora has to count for more .) For my needs, Eudora (currently 5.1b21) is the only good solution. Eudora has powerful customizable filters. For my situation, Eudora deals with multiple accounts better than the other apps. Eudora has a simple Mac-like interface instead of the chaos of Entourage. Finally, Eudora stores messages and attachments separately in a stable and accessible format.

I got tired of all the bugs in Mail.app, and Outlook Express didn't run reliably for me in Classic mode.

...laughed and went back to using entourage.
Microsoft should offer it at a similar price to Eudora Pro.
Tried Eudora X beta, hated it (even though I've used Eudora Pro on my Windows machine for 6+ years).
Bought Office X, tried Entourage, love it.

It's simple to use. Stability is okay.
The main selling point.....it will be here as long as Apple is still here
I'm a sucker for simplicity.
