Not at all- Look at Walmart's history and ethics. That's all. Plain and simple.
You're either close-minded or just naive.
Not really. I've been involved in several companies who did business with Walmart and it all comes down to making your company and your product more competitive, or offering a Walmart-only exclusive that beats competitors with uniqueness.
I think there is a middle-ground, something like taxing some of the imports and services to offset the price differences, then re-investing the taxes back in markets where the US has some difficulties competing.
I already lost a bid to India, my bid $1,400, India's bid $270.
I don't live in India so I can never justify spending 20 hours for $270. I don't know... maybe in two years I could
Sounds like you could take advantage of Indian labor to get 5 times as much work. If you can get the same clients and offer cheaper "whatever" (I'll assume you're a web site designer) PLUS other services, you'd increase your business and be able to push other services your competition can't offer. I'm just saying...
The problem with WalMart is not the outsourcing, it is the illegal business practices that take place by manipulating the local city members, such as redirecting local school funds to building a WalMart, or investing the city's money to provide land and parking lots for WalMart giving them an advantage over other local businesses. You should watch the WalMart documentary, it will show you their evil side and practices. There are many other reasons, you'll be shocked to learn.
Now, now, now... all large businesses seek these kinds of perks from cities. You should see how Disney calls the shots in Anaheim.
I agree that these things are definitely wrong. But let's take a step back. The city officials can say "no". I place the blame on the city officials not Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart can ask, prod, beg, or "threaten", but city officials can still say "no".
There's a lot more to their story... I highly recommend watching it, if you haven't already.

Also, good sig.
Well that is true, I do take advantage of that sometimes but it's not the same, many things go wrong in being a middleman in a long distance relationship.
Having said that, the way our economy is going, I think such detours are inevitable.
No they aren't. Through much greater retail and distribution efficiency, Wal-Mart has helped to lower prices for many people.
By "lowering prices for many people", do you mean lowering how much people cost? If so, I agree with you, Walmart really has lowered wages to the bare minimum, and their union-breaking tactics and lobbyists have insured that American wages will remain the lowest in the western world for years to come!
Walmart has one mission, to offer products at the lowest price to consumers.
Actually, their "one mission" is to make as much money as possible. They don't have any other mission.
Offering products "at the lowest price" is their marketing strategy.
It's well documented that they inhibit the formation of unions, lobby the government to keep minimum wages frozen, and pressure their suppliers for below-market prices, often at the cost of moving operations to China, where Walmart actually has agreements with the Chinese government on supply of workers. I wish more people would think about that when their saving their 5%.

On the other hand, the WalMart in Germany is union, they still make good profits and their workers get healthcare, higher pay, vacation, and overtime.
I think union should step into the US's WalMart and smack it into shape.

Sorry, you're incorrect. If they fail in their mission to provide the lowest prices to their customers, they ultimately fail as a company. The direct effect of providing this is making lots of money.

You can't blame Wal-Mart for people working there... they are employees and they have the right to leave at any time. Its not like they're being forced by law to work there.
