update: I found this in the board FAQ: " When you register, you will be given the option to 'Automatically login when you return to the site'. " It sets a cookie. Perhaps you didn't set that when registered (and I assume that I did which would be why I don't have to log in?), and now it's necessary to figure out a way to use this cookie? I can't find any cookie settings in the User Control Panel.

    Er... was that even comprehensible?

There's a "Remember Me" checkbox next to the login panel. You should just be able to check that.

Remember - we're trolls. Meanwhile I've owned Macs for over 10 years, I can't count how many iPods, etc.

OMG- I'm talking to myself again!

Really- as if I, you , me , whoever would go to such lengths and create additional accounts just to challenge their reality impaired posts. They really flatter themselves - unbelievable.

I was having that problem but it seems to have gone away, I have no idea why.

I login on an open tab with "remember me" checked and it lasts for days.

Thanks for the info. I'll check into it.

I generally ignore all "automatic" settings as they are more a bane than a boon overall so I probably did not check that box when I first joined.

I also explicitly don't save my passwords in any kind of autofill which is always a bad idea IMO as well.

On other sites that I visit and comment on, I usually have to log-in but it usually lasts a day or so before I have to do it again, here it seems like it's closer to ten minutes before the log-in fades. There are a few sites that leave me logged in forever that I have to explicitly remember to log out of (again for security's sake).

I'd be happy if I could just log in in the morning and could rely on not being kicked out for the rest of the day. sometimes I'm halfway through replying to one of the trolls like teckstud or italiankid before I even realise that I'm doing it.

Possibly everyone but me is using autofill?

We were talking about why Apple's share went down in the smartphone market. Was it really due to RIM (which is supposed have awfull products but I won't get into that).

Except its marketshare actually went up. This is why the title of the article is "Apple shares of smartphone market jumps more than twofold".

Now if you want to spin numbers so they agree with you go ahead. Live in your own world of stupidity.

Although Apple saw sales jump more than 100%, its 10.8% share of the market isn't the highest its achieved during its short tenure as a smartphone maker. The company actually registered a near 13% share of the market back in the third quarter of 2008, immediately following the launch of its second-generation iPhone.

    DIRECTLY FROM THE ARTICLE.

    Flunk reading comprehension- heh?

I see it too. Of course, there are only 65 (66 now?) posts on the page, no reason to have a page 3 yet. 92 posts? I think there's a glitch in the matrix. Probably Teckstud's fault.

It went up because a year prior it was only available in the USA... It should have gone up a lot more than double... considering it is in over 40+ countries. LOL

Apple is always going to have leaps and bows. Consider that the initial introduction of the iPhone was perceived by all in the industry to be an extraordinary leap forward in technology and innovation. Consider then that the second leap refined and pulled in a further increase of customers. Now the company is touting without question the most powerful development suite for mobile platforms to have ever existed. People will wait for whats next. RIM and others, it doesnt matter when you buy, as they seldom offer something truly leaping or innovative. Minuscule steps forward, safe to buy year round. The iPhone future, on the other hand, is not likely to disappoint your bated breath.

Nokia 5800 wins as 'Best multimedia smartphone

The N97 will be launched in 2 weeks. Should add to the mix. Can't wait to see how Apple responds. Does not matter. If the iPhone proves to be a real phone rather than an iPod with phone, I might get another one.
