I have to say that one thing is clear. All of these banners seem to be centered around one product... That means unless its a technology like gigawire that can be put into many things. It will probably only mentioned once in the Keynote. So, what will take up the rest of the time??

Well I think that this new slogan points to a very fast processor. Although I do not think that the Lust Factor 10 has anything to do with DP G5s, therefore adding to 10. But instead remember that in Star Trek you could only go Warp Factor 9.9, so by alluding to Star Trek and saying Lust Factor 10 they are making an allusion to incredible speed.

BINGO! You read my mind. They all point to a faster machine than any PC created. I'm almost positive the new Macs can't have a clockspeed of 2.2Ghz+ (the current PC leader), but Apple would be happy to bake off a 1.xGhz Gx with it.

    But then Steve said they'd close the Mhz gap. CLOSE, not shrink. Hmmm.... <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

We might see a very cool machine announced on Monday.

Or we could stop reading into it so much and assume that it just makes OS X run REALLY fast... accelerator for aqua anyone?

Ya know this latest one is interesting, in the diction "Lust", peculiar word to use especially based on the previous teasers...I'm starting to believe that it is hardware, plan and simple, hardware, be it super impressive hardware, or mediocore hardware, no satalites, no software, no abstract helper format pc load letter crap, just cpus and perhaps a new digihub device(but I doubt it, **** the iWalk thats a fake)

please don't try to pul rank on me i'm like a star trek guru. they have hit warp 10 a couple times. at least twice through the voyager series and then when q was messing around with them in tng. and its not just 9.9 its really 9.995 under starfleet warp engines. and its been a while but i thought they hit 10 in episode four.

Ya know this post brings back memories of the old AI...what was it tigerwoods post mercury rising( or whatever it was titled, it reached 20-something pages I believe, then the mods closed it cause it was too big, I wonder if that will happen to this thread?

I just had the taste of mango in my mouth but I haven't eaten any mangos or mango products in months

Actually, merlion's post at the top of page 17 of this thread is dead on.

Alright, *NOW* I"m over the edge. If "Full Speed Ahead, Lust Factor 10" isn't referring to a new Ghz+ desktop in a revamped case design, I'll eat my hat. I just can't see Apple floating a tidbit that hints *so* strongly at something users have wanted *so* badly for *so* long without it being the object of our not-so-obscure desires.

I also agree that Merlion is right. While a lot of folks have been pulling their hair out trying to figure out what the teasers add up to, the truth is that each teaser referrs to a *different* product; it's a perfect set-up to allow Steve to introduce each product one by one as he puts up the teasers on screen. Makes sense too, in that a revamped desktop would make a perfect pseudo closing product before Steve adds his infamous, "Oh, and one more thing..."

Heck, maybe *that's* what we'll see for Sunday's teaser, "1 day to MacWorld San Francisco. Oh, and one more thing..."

I think you guys are missing the point. Wouldn't it be more like Apple to be aiming their titles to more than one product!??

I first thought that Lust Factor 10 would have referred to the new iMac. New form factor(Lust Factor). Surely it's pretty easy to figure.

Some of you guys are reading G7 35GHz/27GB RAM/500GB HD/Wackydrive and a blowjob from "1 day till MWSF.....I got my dick caught in my pants".

Ease up!! You guys are really gonna hurt hard post Stevenote!!

How'd you arrive at those numbers, joecool? I can just see the whining on monday here after Apple leaves out the blowjob.

Well, yeah, that's what Merlion *said*.

Yeah, if you ignore "Full speed ahead" which has *nothing* to do with the anticipation around a new iMac. The emphasis of the teaser is "Full speed ahead," and speed is an issue surrounding the desktops, not the iMac.

True, some will, but heck, the crystal ball stuff is half the fun of a Stevenote if you're smart enough not to get carried away and confuse the speculation with promises written in stone.

No flippin' chance, this late in the game with this much stoking from the Mothership. I gotta strong feeling we're getting the whole package this time; heat *and* light, steak *and* sizzle.

I think they will be very specific:

    1. This one is big... A New larger Cinema display

    2. Blown away... New game hardware/software

    3. Way beyond... Wireless technology or maybe Gigawire

    4. Backstage pass... QuickTime 6 with MPEG4 preview

    5. Where no PC... the new iMac with Tablet mode

    6. ???... something about the G5 PowerMac

    7. ???... something about the new consumer device

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    </strong><hr></blockquote>

"Full Speed Ahead: Lust Factor Ten"

seems to tie in with 6! Or perhaps it's just talking about a new build of OS X as fast as OS 9.x?

[edit: Steve's RDF is toooooo strong! I'm beginning to believe that the G5s may actually debut at MWNY... Looks like I might be sorely dissapointed.]
