Domino was announced early last year. At first Apple was interested in their another DV chip, MX25, for DV editing for use with FinalCut Pro.

    - Actually Domino has same capability that iMovie & FCP3 will be most helped from this adoption. One condition is that it require to use OS X.

After they got the presentation from C-cube about Domino project, It changed all of plan for the future Consumer & Pro Macintosh system.

Steve began to make Digital Hub concept and Now ,I think , we will be looking at the result.

The Domino will be for every Mac, not just for Pro line.

It fit well with Quicktime architecture & It is DSP for multimedia and it is cheap, about $20 with quantity.

And LSI logic is announcing the product at Jan 7, not Jan 8 which is first day of CES .

to be continue with Part5 soon.

    - I am writing it now.

    Part5

    Steve came back to stage.

Steve: I am sorry ! I forgot the most important thing !

    There is one more thing!

Everybody in the hall stand-up and cheers !!!

Steve: Did you ever had this experience ?

You are in the living room and you want to see ?soprano? rerun from HBO when you have a free time without change TV channel which is showing your wife's favorite program? Or you want to see your Apple Web page in the sofa without going back to your iMac ? You have 3 kid in the home and they want to have their own Mac for each.

Well. I think it is about time to solve this problem!

Well you know that we made Quarz as PDF based engine. And it is not bit-map based but vectorized. If you remember old time, there was X-window which is connected to UNIX server and many people could share one machine ! SGI was one of the best case of using it since all of their interface are X-window based !

And this is 21st century and we will have 21st century version of one. Yes. It is not your old macintosh anymore ! And it is totally different than what others are just showing as proto-type!

    Apple will introduce .........i****v2 !!!!

    -It is i****v2 ! - Maybe named iPAD ?

-I don?t know exact name for it . I will call it iPAD now on.

It has OS X lite OS with Netboot client mode.

    - OS X in Any macintosh can be Netboot server for iPAD. iMac, ibook are also included.

It can boot from Airport II !. And because it is Client software, it does not need reboot iPAD! it will just replace it?s own window with servers window.

And no speed decrease since all the calculation is done on Server!

And it is using OS X -lite that it can be use by itself. We will have many many S/W for the Lite version. The QuickTime is the first of it and you can playback Quicktime file and read PDF E-book without server.

And thanks to domino chip inside of each Mac, you will be able to see live NFL anywhere using MPEG-4 streaming.

    - I have to do some work now . Part5 will continue soon. sorry

Really no going back now Kormac. With all the hype, it's not like this thing can possibly get "steve'd" at the last minute and not make the show. I'm pulling for this, but, yo.

The lastest leaks form TIME confirm many of kormac's predictions for the iMac, such as the 15" LCD, G4 processor, built-in Airport and Superdrive!

Good stuff, Kormac. Is the display on the new iMac removable? HWR? Can it function as a "iPad" also?

I think the Time article would have menitoned the HD TV and Domino chip stuff if it was true. Of course there could be additional articles that will be in the actual issue. Let's hope.

this seems too deliberate, i think steve has something up his sleeve. look for something that NOone has had access to. and kormac's speculations about the iPad seems about right. remember waaaay beyond the rumour sites. flat screen imac has been part of the lore for over a year now.

I hope so. How cool would it be if tonight's Apple.com message made reference to the Time article, even made a joke about it.

someone on another thread is saying that this IS the iPad. all that kormac is talking about in the screen, the base holding the hard drive and memory and dvd. hmmm, anyone else see a keyboard? why is there such a distinct LACK of detail in the article? no specs at all, from what i can see. interesting.....

That's not what he was implying above. Would the guy who pretends to be Kormac please finish the story?

I just figured the whole Kormac thing out. He was supposed to come back and finish this, but didn't. Who, with the Time magazine leak, is too busy/pissed to come hear and post in pigeon English? Steve is Kormac! Another secret revealed.

Well! I am reading other posts.

    Looks good!

They changed a lot since I eard about design.

I am trying to post my final Part.

But The "Lamp" design is so interesting!.

Strange thing is that no mention of detail!

I agree with you kormac, there is suspiciously no detail. Apple appears to have made a special deal with Time for an exclusive article which got them the cover, but is still leaving room for everything that you suggest as the "real" big thing. The hype of the last few days on Apple's page just does NOT add up to this little iLamp.

    beyond the rumour sites

where no pc has gone before

LCD imac just doesn't cut it...
