Yeah screw charity you know those poor people that can't afford a "premium" computer.
You really are a major tool.
I wasn't going to get into this but since the guy you replied to is somewhat of a tool I will.
Some here may think I am anti apple at time when in reality, I am a Pro user in audio and have been around mant Xsans and so on. Avid high end raid array storage. But me, I compose.
Anyway, I was reading this book once and it said something like 7 signs you work for a bad boss/person.
1) He makes fun of the compitition
2) He is secretive
3) he is paranoid
can't remember them all but was reading it right around the time of the unibody keynote. Remember Jobs and how he was like, "ok, times up, pass them back" keeping an eye on every one like someone might actually steal one. Then it struck me. Steve had all 7 of those traits and it was very odd. I saw him in a whole different way.

If you have all this knowledge could you share some of it with us by using some actual facts.
To imply Bill Gates is more of control freak then Steves Jobs is just funny.
It is funny in real world, but don't forget this is AI world.
Here, it is perfectly normal for a company to completely define its marketing on trying to insult competition, instead of advertising their own products. For years.
It is also completely normal to have anti-1984 themed commercial years ago, just to turn company into living 1984.
And it is absolutely normal to worship a person to an extend that wouldn't leave likes of Mao Tse Tung and Stalin indifferent.
Quite pathetic, actually. At the end of the day, we are talking just about brand with 4% of market, nice OS and good looking, average working hardware with inflated price tags.
Merits to reasonable, down to earth people; others are great fun to observe, though not in any flattering way
Without Bill Gates' phenomenal success do you really think SJ would have been as propelled at vengeance as has been well documented over and over again? And I'm a fool?
Saying that MS would be that much worst without Apple to push them, is the same as saying that without MS, Apple would still be selling Apple III computers... or something evolutionary, but not significantly different; because without MS, Apple would not have to "innovate" to survive. And Steve would lost interest for computers long time ago and completely move his efforts to Disneyland, giving his voice to Mickey Mouse and becoming new Walt.
Apparently, this counts as "machines people want." Or at least, want to buy. You know, they see cheaper PCs everywhere in a range of configurations, yet they choose the higher priced Mac. In a recession. People buying MORE Macs and handing Apple record quarters, because they don't actaully want Macs. Yup, makes perfect sense
Hey, Apple, dictate away!
When you SPEAK FOR YOURSELF, please . . . DON'T SPEAK FOR THE REST OF APPLE'S MARKET. Or put some qualifier or disclaimer there telling us it's only your anecdotal opinion, so we can maybe stop reading it.

Oh well. To each his or her own.
What does any of that have to do with products? Apparently, with a "bad boss"/"bad person" Apple has changed the face of tech over the last decade, has rendered itself recession-proof, and rolls out products that people go crazy for. That's kinda what Bill Gates was driving at. Not whether Steve had a sunny disposition.
Congratulations you're a Pro user. The sun's a little brighter, the grass is a little greener, and food just plain tastes better(!!) because we know. Why didn't you tell us before??

When you're ready to "up your game" in the reading department, you might look for a book with 10 signs you work for a bad boss/person.

Ahh, the wonder of internet anonymity ... anyone can claim anything, what they own, what they do, how "ripped" their abbs are, all with no verification. Heavens, that could lead to exaggeration if we're not careful.
Me ... I try to "judge" people based on their postings, rather than who/what they say they are. From what I see, your postings, and what you say you are/own are at odds with each other, ... interesting.

Again, if you had any "experience" at giving a presentation, you would understand the necessity of "keeping it moving". The history of all Apple keynotes tells us they all last 60-90 minutes. People tend to have a short attention span. Steve Jobs understands this, you, not so much ... you still with me?

All successful business men/owners are heartless, cunning, kill-or-be-killed entrepreneurs when it comes to 'business'. Steve and Bill are included in this (read any reports on how they ran their companies).
That said outside of the business world Gates has a multi-billion dollar charity that he and his wife run giving millions in aid around the globe. What exactly does Steve offer the world outside of Apple?

A bit sad but true. Than Appls will start releasing machines people want and will no longer dictate what they think we should have.
And this is a problem because???

No what I'm saying is withhout Ms Windows phenomenal 90% market share there would be little Apple incentive to:
1. Make Windows iPods
2. Write iTunes for Windows
3. Switch to Intel
4. Copy and mimic Office with Numbers, Mail. iCal, etc
5 Switch to right click and abandon double clickmouse
did I leave out anything?
